Literatii
I've been to Vegas a few times, and normally stay at the Venetian or Palazzo. But the Venetian particularly seems to be getting worse in customer service. For the June 2011 show I'm curious as to where people are planning to stay. I'm thinking of trying the MGM Grand or Bellagio this time around (Rush = MGM, Bellagio = O). Any comments on other 4.5 - 5 star hotels?
luvrush
Even though I live in town, I have stayed at both the MGM & the Bellagio for special occassions such as anniversaries and such. You can't beat the Bellagio for customer service. I wasn't all that impressed with the MGM - nothing special in my opinion. For something right in between, maybe try the Mandalay Bay ...? My experience was that it was not as expensive as the Bellagio, not as great with the customer service, but better than the MGM. Or you could really go out on a limb and try the new Aria at City Center - looks beautiful - probably pricey, but nice.
LeaveMyThingAlone
What you ask is such a loaded question just because so much totally depends on your budget. If money is no object (and I'm guessing it's not if you're used to the Venetian), then there is absolutely no beating the Bellagio. Nicest hotel in Vegas for my money. Plus Bellagio is walking distance to MGM Grand. Also, Mandalay Bay is awesome with one of the best pools going, but the downside there is that it's way off the strip and you need to take the tram to get anywhere else. Wynn Encore is right up there with Bellagio as well....but Bellagio is my top choice. It's gorgeous, great customer service, fuve star restaurants, etc. If you gamble, you wont find any tables less than $25/hand on weekend nights
Literatii
Thanks guys, I really appreciate your responses. To add: no, cost is not a factor.
Sgt.D
All the new stuff at the Hard Rock make it a pretty cool choice IMO. I'm lucky that I have a time share thats half a block from the back door of the MGM, but if I was lookin' the Hard Rock is where I would go. It is about a 5 minute cab ride to the arena with no hassle traffic in between, they have added a couple of room towers, the pools are sick, and the Joint is there for a possible show during your stay as well. Check it out!!

Skin Bag
I stayed at the MGM last year and it was bad enough to make me want to get a room someplace else -- make that ANYPLACE else -- this year. You have the longest hike to even get to your room and there aren't any vending machines anywhere in sight. Guess they want you to make the long trek back downstairs to the casino. So I'm thinking about staying at the Monte Carlo this time, it can't be that much farther to walk, especially if there is an alternate/outside entrance to the MGM Grand Arena. Weatherman2112
This isn't for Literatii. With money no object, you'll be fine. For the rest of you, please consider the Tropicana. I know, they have that bad reputation from the past. But they have remodeled the whole place and it's really great now! I stayed there last year and was very pleased. The rooms were beautifully redone, the casino was nice, the restaurants were great, the pool was hoppin' and the price was very good. Plus it's right on the strip, across the street from the concert and around the corner from the airport. It's a no brainer to me. Monte Carlo is ok but the rooms are not as nice and that new city center cramps it's style. That's my 2 cents.

luvrush
Weatherman is right. I forgot about the Tropicana - very convenient to the concert. The pool has been voted the best Las Vegas pool for something like 8 years - it has a swim up blackjack bar, among other things. Can't say much about the rooms since I've never stayed there. The Mandalay Bay is also known for its pools, but in my experience they were so crowded as to not be enjoyable. The Bellagio pools are, of course, pristine! dubnspace
i like staying at The Hotel at Mandalay.. it's the nicer tower in Mandalay.. really nice big rooms, great service. They have a monorail that takes you straight to Excalibur, then its just a walk across the street to MGM for the show.
Literatii
For anyone that's interested I sent the Venetian an email about my shitty customer service. I guess we'll see what happens heh.

THE Hotel is the upscale sister property to Mandalay Bay. If money is truly not an issue, the Mandarin Oriental will have the best service. But hey, the MGM Grand is a nice hotel and it is certainly convenient. Some of the best restaurants in town, too.

Unattractive Truth
Hi Folks! My wife and I go to Las Vegas often. We went last summer for the Time Machine Tour, and stayed at MGM Grand. We like it there generally. This time, we're staying at Mandalay Bay. That's a new spot for us, but they had some great deals on suites. Looking forward to another Rush show, Las Vegas style! Unattractive Truth
Excuse the double reply, but I was thinking.... If you're looking for a 5 star experience, and cost is not an issue, you should take a look at Skylofts... http://www.skyloftsmgmgrand.com/flash/skylofts.html It's a hotel within MGM Grand on the top two floors. My wife and I stayed there a couple of years ago. The service is unbelievable. A decadent VIP experience from beginning to end.
pedro2112
The Signature Suites at the MGM is also very nice if you are looking for an upgrade from the regular MGM rooms. That's where I am staying this time.
Midway Hawker
Since I spent $712 on two Rush tickets, I'm at Hooters. Good location, yeah it's a crappy hotel... but I plan on being in the room for maybe 4-6 hours per day.. Two nights = $120. That helps balance out the price of the tickets! Yeah...looks like Hooters is where I'll be booking the room. I was hoping to find a killer deal at the Excalibur like last August, but no dice. I'm with you though...sleep, shower, and off I go!! However, I am still in the market for two tickets. Anyone? Anyone? Bueller? Edited May 5, 2011 by Rushchick10

Those will be nice seats. Did you get the VIP Package? (That price looks familiar). Last summer we were in 17C. This year....well, we lucked out in the VIP sales, big time! We booked our hotel a long time ago (Mandalay Bay), and it looks like we made the right call. Rooms are now few and expensive that weekend.
