USB Connector
My friends and I were having a discussion about the upcoming Rush concert and one of them said "DUDE! We need to make sure we have lighters for the concert, what songs can we use them for?" My only response was the intro for closer to the heart. Seeing as how this is the first tour I've seen Rush (saw them at the ACC), are there any other songs they've performed where people wave their lighters? D3strukt
Try the quiet section of Marathon. Maybe Presto as well, since that's a soft rocker.
snowdog2112
I've been going to rock concerts for over 25 years and have never partaken of this ritual. I guess I partly just don't get it but also I've never smoked. If I held up my keys with the little light on would that help?
1 of the 7
Lots of people these days wave the lighted parts of their cell phones (there are even apps to make them look like a lighter). I don't remember a lot of this going on at Rush, though. At a Queen tribute band show a few years ago, though...holy moly!
Albone2112
Saw Alice Cooper back in October, and during 'Only Women Bleed', some folks close to us were actually using lighters. I turned to my friend and said, 'Lighters, that's what you're supposed to use dammit!'

USB Connector
Thanks guys, I also noticed Tears would work, but I don't think they'll be performing it again.
micgtr71
No particular song comes to mind. That practice seems to be best kept to hair metal imo.
rushgoober
There are several Rush songs I'd want to hold a lighter to, but probably not in the way that's meant in this thread.

rushgoober
To answer the thread seriously, though, it would be more of the ballad or anthem like songs: Lakeside Park Tears Closer to the Heart Broon's Bane Entre Nous Limelight Losing It Marathon Mystic Rhythms Mission The Pass Dreamline Nobody's Hero (and yes, I'm aware some of these have never been performed live) (and damn, that'd make a really cool compilation!)
