here is what i just bought today:

eh.gif

i think it's going to sound better than it looks. whew! so, yeah: $465

well, i'm happy to say that this guitar arrived and this guitar is very nice. it's got that old school feel to the neck. the pickups are pretty bright so i'll have to tone that shit down. i think the string are new so i'm like eh.gif my guess is that it will only sound better with a little finger grease yes.gif

probably the best guitar i have ever owned...i'm tired of tuning cheap guitars to certain chords and have them be out of tune for other chords angry.gif

Nice!

I read great things about the G&L's like, some are better than fenders.

G&Ls are solid guitars. One of G&L's founders was Leo Fender himself, after he sold his Fender company in the '60s.

I just bought a VG Strat on Ebay last night. I wasn't expecting to win the auction, but ended up winning at a really low price of $1,025. Advertised as mint condition. Hopefully, it will actually be 'mint' when I get it!

Thanks for the positive vibes! I'm sure it will work out. If I don't like the guitar, I will just put it back up for sell and possibly make a few hundred bucks. I wanted to buy a 1984 or 1985 re-issue Strat, but couldn't find one in my budget.

i bought a epiphone firebird vii one month ago, sounds amazing clean in the middle position with all the pickups on, but it doesnt sound so good with distortion/OD. i think im going to route out the pickup cavity in the bridge so i can put a p90 or humbucker there. it stays in tune quite well when i use the trem, i dont abuse it though. ive heard some horror stories about the maestro vibrola style trems, but i think it works pretty decent. took alittle while to get used to the body shape but i like it now. i thought about maybe putting a black pickguard on it, or would that look weird?

My new guitar, a Vanden Electric. It was made by Mike Vanden for a show at the Barbican in London, and there are only 4or 5 similar to it. Sounds quite beefy with the EMG's, and I really like the Kahler trem smile.gif anyway, pics....
