GeddysMullet
Glad you like the pictures! I'm in a bit of a Rush frame of mind after getting tickets for the spring, so don't be surprised if this continues ;) The first picture is of Geddy at a Red Sox/Blue Jays game in Toronto in April of 2008. The Ricky picture is just something gorgeous that I found on Google when I was browsing yesterday. I backtracked the link but couldn't find any information on the site that is hosting the picture. Lorraine
I wonder where he gets his energy from. I am a year younger than he is and I could never do on stage what he does ... even if I could play an instrument and was famous!

GeddysMullet
I need to smile and feel happy for a few minutes, so...pictures of Geddy! http://fc05.deviantart.net/fs70/i/2010/268/c/3/geddy_lee_ii_by_thecubanspy-d2zgaby.jpg http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-7D3_xnMDjYY/T8-4h0BkZWI/AAAAAAAABPo/OEShFyMjlqI/s1600/Geddy_Lee_by_docbevo.jpg http://www.genestout.com/wp-content/uploads/dsc_0090.jpg http://i.thestar.com/images/34/f4/bfb514bc4461b3c53d0df430cf67.jpg
Mika
Thank you, GM, for making us all happier! And I especially like that first one, where Geddy's looking to the left. Great shot! And when this page was loading up for me, it went straight to a very-well framed shot of Geddy's butt. I had no choice but to stare while the page finished loading... which took like half a second so I stared longer anyway. :P
CygnusGal
Looking at pictures of Geddy always makes me happy too. Thanks for the photos, GM! :) :geddy: Edited January 31, 2013 by CygnusGal

Lorraine
GM,. you make me laugh, and the pictures make me smile. I needed both. Let's make this at least a weekly thing, shall we? ;) :) Love the third, fourth and fifth picture. What a great smile he has! Doesn't everyone agree? :) ;)
CygnusGal
GM can post pictures of Geddy all day and I will look all day. Thanks for the photos, GM! :) I love the fourth photo! I wonder what he's playing. :geddy:
RushCanuck
I wonder where he gets his energy from. It appears that he takes care of himself and his wine habit helps... I remember in the Backstage DVD, Rush's personal chef was delivering an organic salad to Geddy, so it looks like he watches what he eats.
Mika
I wonder where he gets his energy from. It appears that he takes care of himself and his wine habit helps... I remember in the Backstage DVD, Rush's personal chef was delivering an organic salad to Geddy, so it looks like he watches what he eats. It's very heartening to know that someone I look up to is interested in keeping himself well, and taking good care of himself. I imagine that in his position (of being a bass god and all) it would be easy to give free rein to indulgence and not care so much about the long term. I feel that maybe he cares so much about the quality of his musical output that he will do what it takes to make this happen, and this includes eating healthfully and apparently avoiding altogether foods (like spicy things and dairy) that are detrimental to his vocal chords. And keeping himself physically in shape! :) Oh, and speaking of shape: I was just watching a dvd concert of Rush from 1994 with my Rush-loving brother, and there happened to be a camera shot which showed Geddy's butt to good effect. I was just about to turn and comment to my bro about the fine derriere we were witnessing, but then I realized that I should probably cater to my audience - my brother probably really doesn't need to hear anything about Geddy's butt. So I kept the visual enjoyment all to myself. Hmm, maybe it's time to pull out the Exit Stage Left dvd again... I'm sure many of you know exactly what I mean!

Lorraine
His face has changed significantly since those days. I can't figure out what is so different yet. Aside from decades - is it the bangs? Darker hair? Is it the mouth?

GeddysMullet
His face has changed significantly since those days. I can't figure out what is so different yet. Aside from decades - is it the bangs? Darker hair? Is it the mouth? I've thought the same thing. I think it's mostly that his face, like the rest of him, has filled out. The guy didn't have a lot of padding on him when he was young, and he's gotten, well, thicker through the years. You can see in this early picture that he was little more than skin and bones (and hair!) as a young man: http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y234/bobwire/ByTor74--book-inside.jpg If you compare close-ups and look closely at his features, you see that they really haven't changed (nor have his facial expressions! ):http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x285/geddysmullet/eslged04.jpg http://www.studiotv.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/Geddy-Lee-Bass-Rush-02.jpg The receding of his hairline also changes the appearance of the shape of his face. It's the same eyes, nose and mouth with a different background. I hope this doesn't make me sound creepy... Lorraine
GM. I was going to ask you to do what you did - pics from the past and present either along side or like you put them. I am studying the pictures (you should see me doing it) and have concluded that it is mostly the hair and weight. Do you know how tall he is? You're right, GM. Basically, his face hasn't changed at all. Between us, I think he looks better (and a lot more handsome) today than back then. But that's just me. At any age though, he sure is a good looker. Lorraine
I hope this doesn't make me sound creepy... Not at all. Why should it? He does look different. I don't look the same today as I did in the seventies either. For some reason, I have aged, believe it or not!

Thank goodness my BF isn't here right now; he happened to come hang out with me just as I was loading this page last night, and I decided it might be best to skip my replying to this thread until later. Geddy's butt does not need to be visually caressed by male eyes. 'Visually caressed' - it has a nice ring to it, but is it inappropriate in connection with a respected musician's derriere? Anyway, thanks for this photo again... it's always appreciated! :)
