langmick
This vid really shows off what the lasers can do. Freaking crazy. I don't see any of that from my spot on stage so when I watch these videos, I am just floored.

CygnusX-1Bk2
Those tom mics are Sennheiser e604's. I haven't done any real tracking with them yet. In the pictures there is a Shure SM57 on the snare but I sometimes use an Audix i5 which is becoming a popular choice. The OH are Oktava MC012's. I used those on the three high closed toms for the La Villa recording. The standard AKG D112 is on the bass drum and I am building a "sub-kick" transducer for extended low end. I've heard of all those mics and have used them in my vocational class, except for the Oktava overheads, which I haven't heard of... I'm assuming you've used this mic before but how do you like the Audix D6? I find that I prefer that mic slightly over the D112...
CygnusX-1Bk2
I have a D6 but use the D112. I may use it in addition to the AKG or as a floor tom mic or maybe on a bass cabinet. I have also tried an EV RE20 on my bass drum but never liked that. When I use the D112 it sounds like my bass drum to me. Other mics tend to color more than I like. Sometimes I use an Earthworks Kick Pad in line on the bass drum mic cable. It's like an EQ insert. It's a little more mellow than the D112 by itself.
