I like her cymbal. She has to keep it and use it on every show she goes to. Even if she doesnt ever play it, it has to be there!

haha I will keep it....I think Neil actaully had his Sabian Ride cymbal from way back then, up till the VT tour......until now....cuz he has the paragon cymbals. NeilFinal.gif

Actually Neil's old ride was a Zildjian Ping Ride made at the Meductic Factory when it was a Zildjian factory. Sabian was started by Bob Zildjian when he split company from his brother Armand Zildjian, who took over Zildjian Cymbals from their father Avedis Zildjian III who died in the early 80s. Sabian did not yet exist when Neil's ride was made. He got that ride cymbal when Rush got their tour advance in 1974.

Hi there,

I have a 6 piece DW Custom in 'Emerald Satin'. I've had them for about 6 years now and still the best drums I've ever played! They have been all over the world with my groups and still look brand new.

/10"/12"/14"/16" toms...22" kick and 14" Solid Cherry 'Cravioto Snare', #008 of 100 made, signed by John.

All DW pedals, stands ect...

I have a Zildjian endorsement so of course that just about all I play (have to).

I use all 'A Custom' cymbals....

8"&10" splashes, 2-14" thin crashes, 16" projection crash, 17" medium crash, 18" high china, 18" low china and 13" hihats.

Although I do use a 22" Paiste 3000 series heavy rock ride. It's just a solid sounding cymbal, and weighs about 10 pounds! Still the best, most cut-through ride cymbal I've ever owned.

I use ProMark 5B nylon sticks, Remo powerstroke 3 heads, coated Ambassadors and Control Sound-white dot on the snare. And Tuxedo Bag Cases exclusively.

I trigger all my drums through an Alesis DM5Pro with Ddrum triggers. All submixed through my mixer and rack of gear then sent to the main mixer.

I use Shure in ear monitors, AKG, Sennheiser and Shure microphones.

That's it! Here are a few pics.

My current band is called 'Rockerbox'. We are a classic rock band that plays Harley rallies and conventions. Strictly 70's and 80's rock. Pretty much a cover band but we incorporate some originals into our sets.

We play throughout the Southwest US. Based out of Lake Powell, Az (Page, Az)

Welcome peartisgod!

I think I will dub you: p.i.g. tongue.gif

Nice to see some teens interested in Rush. It was common when I was one, but now...

No sweat about being spoiled. I didn't pay for drums or cymbals until I was 17 (7 years after my first kit). I was truly spoiled, but my dad is a musician. I did buy my second guitar when I was 14 (a Gibson SG), but that's another story.

This may start me on a new thread.

Your friendly neighborhood Mod.

Hello. I'm really glad i found this site.Great work. I am a drummer & rabid Rush fan, unfortunately I'm kinda new to the computer thing.I know this is gonna sound dumb, but can anyone tell me how I can download some Rush music files & where I can find them? I know "damn newby".

Anyway,I'd post a pic of my drums if I knew how (html definitely is beyond me at present),but if anyone wants to see it,theyre in my Yahoo photo album http:photos.yahoo.com/perkussive

I started a Rush cover band in high school ('78) and I still play with one of those guys today.Ive done projects with Joe Walsh,Paul Rogers and I do a lot of stuff with Roger Fisher(founder & lead guitarist of Heart).

(all drums ludwig unless otherwise indicated)

15" deep snare

15" '72 Rogers snare

6-8-10" rotos

12-14-15" toms

17" Gretsch floor tom

15-16" tymbales

20" '66 Ludwig bass drums

(all wood drums recovered in black fur)

(all cymbals zildjian except an 18" paiste china, a 6" paiste bell cymbal and a 10" sabian garbage cymbal)

16-18-20"crashes

12" splash

24" med. ride

15" thick hi-hat cymbals that actually are US navy marching band crash cymbals (they sound great)

3 cowbells (actually used pots & pans in the old days to play Xanadu & the Working Man solo, I still get people coming up to me in bars & saying "arent u the guy that had the pots & pans?)

All Tama hardware including a homemade triple boom stand (arent multi-clamps awesome?)

I also have a homemade Water-gong and lots of electronics that i periodically discard & then re-add depending on the situation ( i still have an original Syndrum that i use for bass effects every so often)

Anyway, I love the site & if anyone can help me to get some music on this damn PC I'd be forever grateful.

Rush defines music for musicians.

Welcome to the site, perkussive.

If you're looking to download Rush MP3's, you can get them off any type of Peer 2 Peer program like Kazaa, WinMX, Limewire, ect. My suggestion for just getting songs would be to use WinMX which you can dowload here. Just click on the link where it says download now, and then install the program. Once you're done doing that, and you have the program opened up, under the search menu, just type in "Rush" and you'll get a list of available songs to download.

Also what you can do is if you have Windows Media Player or any type of program like that, you can copy the music from cd's directly to your hard drive and play them there.
