CMWriter
QUOTE (H. P. L. @ Dec 3 2010, 10:49 AM) QUOTE (CMWriter @ Dec 3 2010, 05:30 AM) Origa.. Wow! Really? This is the first time I see her mentioned on TRF. Are you another GITS-SAC fan? I admit I discovered her through that! As for what I listen to... bollywood sountracks, Formula 1 Monza field recordings of the 70s, Godspeed you black emperor, Giorgio Gaber, russian pop, j-pop, canto-pop... Prog no, I hate it. Yes! I love her voice. It's so beautiful. I get little chills, especially when I listen to "Polyushko Pole". Astounding, really. And no, I'm not.. I happened upon her whilst browsing through various AMVs on Youtube, aha. Hurrah for J-Pop.. and J-Rock, for that matter. I like the latter. But I don't obsess over it like some people do.. or like I obsess over Rush. x3 I just like to have a variety of voices on my MP3 player. |D
-Jane-
I listen to a lot electronic music, lot of aggro techno like Combichrist, Grendal. I listen to ton of euro metal. I have been listening to a lot of German opera lately as well. I guess I am on Northern Euro kick.
Xanadu93
Radiohead, Lupe Fiasco, Depeche Mode, My Chemical Romance, Big & Rich, blink-182. The first three are more of a total 180 from Rush, but I threw the last three in there for good measure. CMWriter
Another few just occurred to me this morning. I listen to Christian music (like, the contemporary kind by Switchfoot and Francesca Battistelli (I just murdered her last name) and Avalon) religiously (ha). When I'm listening to Rush while in the car, I've got it tuned to one of two radio stations. Like all the other good music I've gotten into, I blame my dad. It's good stuff, though, IMO. I know pretty much every song that comes on, and a bunch that don't, too. Never been to a concert, though. (MUST SEE MercyMe eventually D:). Totally irrelevant but my mom's kinda the opposite. She likes the music 'cause my dad plays it for church with the band, and sings too, but if "Hell's Bells" or "Highway to Hell" by AC/DC comes on the radio she's going to crank it up. (This happened on the way to church once. I almost died of the irony... I do like AC/DC all right though.)

IChoseFreeWill
Flamenco. Unless you count the fact that Alex does use acoustic guitars at times. Classical music. Though there are classical tributes to Rush, so maybe it is not all that different. Country music. I mean, it is all very predictable 4/4 and 1-4-5-dim7. And I like religious Christmas songs MUCH better than secular ones. I love "O come all ye faithful" and despise "Sleigh ride".
