osage2112
Took my daughter to see Black Veil Brides and The Birthday Massacre was headlining. If you have not heard them, they're a wee bit techno, organ, throbbing gothesque and a whopping dose of over the top (and supremely talented) vocal PERFORMANCE by the lead singer. I bought the Walking with Strangers (2007) CD at the show and REALLY like the hooks and the lyrics. Their sound is very layered and tight. They have a 2010 CD I'd like to pick up. Get a taste of some recent music and catch them when they tour again...I WILL. Osage Edited November 15, 2010 by osage2112
osage2112
I guess this music is just too "new" to generate any interest here. TBM's latest CD (Pins and Needles) is getting great reviews. The band is being seen as something more than it's exterior. I think they might be able to morph into something bigger. Incubus
I'm not an expert on their music, but their name isn't something that I'm likely to forget.
osage2112
Oh, it is Cliche all the way...dark makeup, gothic poses...but the music is balanced and well produced. Believe me, I would not mention them if I didn't think they had talent. They've got it and you'll hear about them. For now, you can see them up close. GrandDesigner
I'll d/l their 2007 album and see if I like it. Always on the lookout for a new band to obsess over!
GrandDesigner
Had a chance to play Walking With Strangers through once and I definitely like it. It's like if Madonna and Trent Reznor had sex, had a kid, and then the kid started this band. Very catchy stuff, which is a nice diversion from some of the harder stuff I listen. Thanks for the advice on a great band! I'll be checking out their other stuff once I burn this one out. osage2112
Walking With Strangers...Tracks 4,5,6,7, 9,10 come across as something you'd like to play again. To Die for, Unfamiliar...both very nice. Her voice reminded me of Dido. I ordered the 2010 CD Pins and Needles...and have heard it's better than Walking with Strangers. I will make sure to see them when they come back to Houston. Osage
Shredder2
I love The Birthday Massacre. "Holiday" is my favorite song from them, and Walking with Strangers is my favorite album by them. I just saw them when they came to town a few weeks ago. Definitely one of the best concerts I've been to ever.

Shredder2
I like this band. Am gobsmacked to see them mentioned on this forum!Yes, I was going to start a thread for them if I hadn't seen one already. :P Their new album Superstition is pretty good! Interesting enough, the singer Chibi took notice of my Rush shirt when I met them during the meet and greet two weeks ago. We had a brief sing-along to the chorus "Subdivisions" before and after the show. :) It was amazing!
