RIP Lindy Infante, 75. Lindy was coach of the Packers before Holmgren, and his 1989 team was the greatest team of all time in playing against a prevent defense. Don Majkowski truly was the majik man that year but held out the next year, had a rough year and was replaced by Favre a couple of years later, only to, like Mandarich, resurface in Indy a few years later.

Tomorrow's Pack-Rams game should be a good one. We'll see if St. Louis' D is legitimate while squaring off against AR.

James Jones has a bad hamstring.

Davante Adams has a sprained ankle.

Randall Cobb is nursing a sore shoulder.

Bryan Bulaga may return to his right tackle duties (sprained knee).

But the defense is pretty healthy!! It may be a low-scoring affair. Lots of carries for Eddie Lacy and James Starks.

They did lose safety Sean Richardson, probably forever. Herniated disc in his neck. He's already had one neck fusion surgery. :(

One neck fusion and a herniated disc? Ugggh. Here's hoping for a retirement. I love football but it's not worth anyone's life...

The Packers lost the much loved Nick Collins to a neck injury, then they lost TE Jermichael Finley, then RB Jonathan Franklin, and now Richardson. These days, the NFL world spends so much time fretting over concussions that it seems to forget the other dangers.....

2015 Green Bay Packers Season: Week 5

Defense wins championships. The Green Bay Packers couldn't agree more! In yet another hard-hitting, smashmouth game, the Green & Gold beat the very determined St. Louis Rams on a warm and sunny Lambeau afternoon. With both defenses dominating the field, it came down to which offense would make the most mistakes. Today, it was the St. Louis offensive line, which couldn't protect QB Nick Foles from the Packers ferocious pass rush, led by Clay Matthews as usual. Foles didn't help his team much, either, as the Packers picked him FOUR times, one for a touchdown by the gifted rookie, Quinten Rollins (above).

The Packer offense met yet another tough, in-your-face defense. The Rams' defensive line is perhaps the best in the NFL, and they frustrated Aaron Rodgers for most of the game. Two big touchdown pass plays, one to Ty Montgomery in the 1st quarter, and another to the team MVP candidate JAMES JONES, gave the Packers all the points they needed. Having shown the world that he is indeed human, and capable of having off days, Aaron Rodgers still did what had to be done to win.

Such a bruising slugfest had its casualties, as both teams lost several players to injuries. The Packers lost BJ Raji (groin), Nick Perry (shoulder) and TJ Lang (knee).

Will the Green & Gold be healed enough to beat the San Diego Chargers this coming Sunday? Keep the faith, Packer Nation....!!!!

2 INTs? Rodgers is all done...

(loosely quoting RnB)

....AND a lost fumble, AND several missed throws.......Hell, I just dropped him from my Fantasy Football team.

Can be a tough week. A determined Chargers team, a banged up Packers team looking forward to a bye week... could be a let down game. I am actually worried more about this game than any of the others so far.

Luckily, they are at home

San Diego's offensive line is a mess, their defense is not nearly as good as the Rams, and the Packers' injuries are healing.

My only concern is Rivers and if he gets hot. He's good enough to rip any defense....if he gets the time to throw.

Nope - Ain't gonna happen. If Rivers had the O-line Denver has or even Green Bay maybe, but he doesn't even have time to step into the pocket anymore. Their secondary has been getting torched all year, only gonna get worse with Rodgers throwing.

2015 Green Bay Packers Season: Week 6

Packers 27

Chargers 20

A dejected Philip Rivers lies on the Lambeau Field turf, knowing that his last minute, 4th and goal pass attempt was knocked away by the Packers' Damarious Randall.

The Packers needed every single defensive play they could find, as the brilliant quarterback from San Diego literally diced and sliced the Packers for over 500 yards. It was truly a Herculean effort by Rivers; he put his struggling Charger team on his back and came very close to pulling off the upset of the year.

The Packer offense, having been kept on the sideline for most of the game, did what was necessary, as they have been doing all year. They made big plays early, and then rose to the challenge when the game was in doubt in the second half. Huge contributions by RB James Starks, WR Jeff Janis and, as usual, JAMES JONES led the Packer offense.

The Packer defense may have been shredded by Rivers, but they dominated the Chargers' running backs, and they made plays when they needed them the most, especially when the Chargers were trying to score. That is what championship teams do; they make the big plays when they need them the most.....like when they're facing a super quarterback like Philip Rivers!!

A well-earned bye week is here, and the team gets to heal up, rest up, and prepare for yet another stud quarterback - Peyton Manning.

It's gonna be the Mile High Battle of the Year!!

Packers needed a good kick in the teeth. It looked like they bought into the pre-game hype... Denver was not as good as their record, and the Packers were favored. Packers didn't look sharp, and Denver's play on both sides of the ball was perfectly executed. They showed up with a chip on their shoulder, and made a good team look like the Dolphins.

It was heartbreaking to watch, but was impressive

Not the teeth. That would ruin the team photo.....

Kick in the rear will suffice!

Green Bay is 28th in total offense right now:

http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/team/_/stat/total

Amazing that they have a 6-1 record. Other than the Chiefs game, the O has been pretty stale, not sure if Jordy is a key here, but the receivers are just not getting open. Lots of short dumps, and great starting field position helped move the chains and put points on the board.

Gonna be another big test this week and Carolina has a pretty solid D. DBs and LBs are very good.
