Al Harris to be released today! Heard on the radio this morning.

I hope this isn't true, but apparently Harris confirmed it via text. With the injuries this season, I think it would be smart to keep a quality vet around

It's official now...

I've never been a fan of Harris...he was called "Toast" around town because he was so often getting BURNED, and I think he was more hype than substance. Corner is no easy job, I know, but I don't think Al was nearly as good as his reputation indicated. I say, good riddance...

Packers 45

Cowboys 7

James Jones celebrates scoring one of many Packers touchdowns in their total thrashing of the hated Dallas Cowboys. The much-maligned team from Texas had no chance from the start, as the superior Packer team dominated them in every phase of the game. The Cowboys' feeble effort caused their head coach to be terminated, whereas the Green And Gold entered its bye week with confidence, momentum, and a great chance to get healthier.

Packers 31

Vikings 3

Greg Jennings hauls in his THIRD touchdown pass from Aaron Rodgers in the Packers total domination of their hated rival in Minneapolis. After taking a few punches from Brett Favre and the Vikings' defense in the first quarter, the Packers roared to a 17-3 halftime lead and never looked back. The Vikings' secondary was no match for Rodgers and his favorite target, Greg Jennings. Adrian Peterson was contained, Brett Favre was off target all game long, and two crucial first-half takeaways by the Packer defense set up the rout.

Will the national sports media NOW - FINALLY - stop with the obsolete and redundant comparisons between Favre and Aaron Rodgers? Favre's career is done. Rodgers' career as a stud quarterback has just begun....!!!

GO PACK GO!!!

The Pack now have two coaching skins on the wall, now Chilli is gone.

Perhaps the Packers played a little too well...Childress isn't a guy you mind seeing on the opposing sideline...

The Packers may get to go for the hat trick come Week 17, when they play da Bears. If they dominate Chicago and knock them out of the playoffs, Lovie Smith could be Termination #3....

The Packers play the Niners in Week 13, so there may not be any good reason to can Singletary with only four games left....but you never know....!! eyesre4.gif smile.gif

Well, if the Niners lose their next two games, they'll be 3-9.

This gives them all the reason in the world to fire the coach...they could go 4-0 and seven wins should be enough to win the NFC West.

There are already six teams in the NFC "non-West" with seven wins. One of them will miss the playoffs while an NFC West team will. There's never been a better time to institute a "you must win at least half your games to make the playoffs" rule.

If it's good enough for the Beef O'Brady's St. Petersburg Bowl, it's good enough for the NFL.

That is what many people want, but if the NFL does that, then having divisions would become meaningless. There has to be some reward for winning one's division.

Also, it is extremely rare for a division champion (in the modern-day era) to have a non-winning record. Only the 1985 Browns have done it (8-8). They lost in the playoffs in the first round, naturally. As for the 11-5 Broncos, who didn't make the wild-card spot, well, too bad. They should have won their division. They lost to the division champion Raiders (12-4) twice that year. That's the breaks of the game....
