jesterhud
Hi this is pretty basic stuff so i apologise for my lack of knowledge ! I have a Panasonic DMR-EH50 DVD recorder, like this one here http://york.gumtree.com/york/44/56198244.html I also have a Sony KDL32W5500 hi def TV. I have the two connected by Scart, and am disappointed with the washed out colours i get when transferring between the two. Looking at the photo on the link (ath the back of the recorder with the connections, whats the best set up for me to link the two, is it scart to scart (like i have) S-video out - TV Red/Yellow/White phono plugs to TV ? Or can i get a Scart to HDMI connection to make the pic better ?? Thanks for any help
briremo
I'm not up to speed on european connectors like Scart but a few minutes of investigation shows me that the connection is only standard definition. Component video allows HD quality video from the recorder, however that machine does not ouput HD or even close. I think it's just interlaced video, no progressive scan The big issue is the native reslotion of what you're recording. If you're recording onto DVD from standard def TV it's gonna look like ass on your HDTV. What are you recording? Or are you just using this machine as a DVD player? If it's just a DVD player, scrap this hunk o' junk and go BluRay!
