cygnus_thegodofbalance
This set was just posted from someone who claimed to have a friend sneak into rehearsals or something. If it is the true setlist, HOLY CRAP!!!!!! IT'S TERRIBLE! What are they thinking with that first set!!??
theworkingman
Some amazing parts. Some bad parts. Closer to the Heart Marathon La Villa Time Stand Still Working Man Presto should be moved in after Neil's solo and be done as an acoustic song. 3 very recent songs kinda bugs me considering this is the Time Machine tour. Also following MP in it's entirety up with a brand new song? Talk about momentum kill. But I will be happy if this is the set list. Here's hoping for Jacobs Ladder too... I feel relieved that we finally know the setlist (or at least, THINK we do), but I also feel horribly disappointed. All I have to say is.. thank god for La Villa, or I'd probably rip up my tickets. Hemispheres89
You know, another striking\ thing I notice is that there are no A/B alternatives that were suggested in previous setlist threads, and seen on last tour. Not even one, there's zero. Maybe it's just me, but that seems oddly out of place.
KillerInstinct
They're playing Faithless but not Good News First? Apart from that, it's a meh setlist for me... at least they have Marathon
Funky Chicken
QUOTE (LeaveMyThingAlone @ Jun 28 2010, 02:17 PM) Presto?! Really?! Wow what an upset that is... Very pleased to see Leave that thing Alone make a comeback. Definitely one of my all-time favorites! Totally disagree. Presto is among the nicest surprises on that list. Disappointed to not see JL. It's also possible that songs may alternate nights like Ceiling Unlimited and Ghost Rider did in 2002.

All I said was that it was an "upset"...in other words shocking to see it on there. Totally obscure...I actually love the song too. I think it's a great setlist...I know most of you guys always want majority of a setlist to be Signals and earlier stuff, but that's just not Rush....and they're breaking out some stuff we haven't heard live before or in a long time. I like that...though I am disappointed with no J/L, who cares?!? It's freaking Rush and it's all good! And dont forget the hard cores are still getting their # 1 wish of Camera Eye. FootballYouBet
Not digging that 1st set at all. I'm admittedly an old timer, but regardless I could easily replace some of those songs in the 1st set with MUCH better tunes.

(How easily we forget) I read it as you being "upset", not as Presto being an "upset" choice. My bad. I agree that Presto is a pretty illogical choice, but that's why I'm happy with it. I think the decision to deliver MP in its entirety made this a really difficult show to lay out. If you think about it there really isn't any other place to put those 7 songs except where they ended up (opening set 2). Also surprised to not see "Wind Blows"-to me that was the strongest S&A cut live next to Far Cry.
analog guy
Since MalNar and Jacob's Ladder aren't there, I'm a little skeptical. I actually don't think it's that bad. I could do without one or two of those, but they're never going to please everybody. The three things I really want to hear are all there, so I'm not too disappointed. PariahDog
QUOTE (Funky Chicken @ Jun 28 2010, 02:27 PM) Presto is among the nicest surprises on that list. Agreed, there are some great picks in that first set: TSS, Presto, Marathon. SIO and LTTA are a little left-field, but still they're good high-energy live songs. And I think Faithless will sound amazing live, though I'm sure it will be a piss-break song for many TRFers. And only three songs from S&A? Weren't folks around here were having heart attacks because of the chance for 5-6 S&A songs? I do think there may be a couple tunes that weren't played at this soundcheck. Are they doing another soundcheck tonight?
shaun3701
I bet Neil just HAD to get Faithless into the set, just so there would be NO DOUBT what his views on religion are Thanks Neil, we get it!
theworkingman
Hey people, Remember these words from the band prior to the second leg of the S&A tour? "Major Revamping of the set list" and what did we get? Things change in rehearsals. How long ago did Alex say they were going to play Jacobs Ladder? I'm as disappointed as anyone that it's not on there and I'm still hoping but if there's anything I learned from that last time it's not to take anything they say for granted.
