I used to be an equestrian. I had a whole collection of tiny plush horses. I gave them all names. LOL

That is one of the most beautiful horses I have seen! wub.gif

I'm still riding my horse and my motorcycle.

My Jibby is now schooling half passes, full passes, pirouettes, haunches, shoulders in and out, all at the walk and trot. Canter work is coming next, along with lead changes. Then once she nails that, Its over jumps next! 1022.gif

Hoarses are cool but we have internal combustion engines these days. No need for hoarses anymore. confused13.gif
Hoarses went out in the late 1920's.

Never met a hoarse I didn't like.

I'm going to a clinic next month with Karen Rohlf. She does some amazing stuff!

Dressage, meh! Much more fun to go racing 'round a 1-mile oval! Or over a few flights of hurdles! (I exercised T-breds "back in the day!")

Rhiannon, you need to sign up on the Chronicle of The Horse forums if you haven't already. It's a little bit of a "clique-y" place at times but very entertaining. www.chronicleforums.com

Mara; I used to fox hunt (drag scent hunt; not live fox) and I LOVED it!

I also used to race my Morgan whenever we had the chance. She LOVED to run! My boy I have now is almost double the horse she was (1400lbs as of yesterday) and when he gets going it's like riding a freight train!

Now that I'm over 30 and MORTAL (ie; break easier, heal slower, basically just not as hell bent on throwing myself & horse over anything not moving fast enough to get out of our way) I like the mental work that comes with working more as an equal partner. Plus, I couldn't ask him to jump; he's just not built for it. And I might get bit by that immortality bug again & wind up in ICU or worse) I'm a responsible adult with many people & FIDs that rely o me to be in one piece. Though i don't think the cats would care if I was in a wheelchair. As long as I was still able to feed them & provide a warm lap to sleep on.

October.I ummm... used to spend a lot of time & cowboy magic whitener. unsure.gif

My equine podiatrist recommended I get rid of them so she could properly align his feet.sad.gif

He came to me with his hoof walls ripped off at the sole; deeeep white line disease & thrush like you READ about. SO I had to do what was best for his feet. He looks pretty nifty; like a king size hunter with a overgrown mop of a mane & forelock. LOL They call him Fabio around the barn cause he has a habit of looking at you through his forelock like Hey Baby.. I'll try to find a pic & post it for you.

Right now he & I are training for a 15 mile ride for breast cancer awareness in October. The VT/NH chapter of the Susan G. Komen foundation is hosting it & I'm hoping to raise $500 before the first of

Well, he is absolutely stunning! I bet you two make quite a picture. "Fabio" - love it!

Waiting for some surgery and then I'm planning on resuming riding. Not racehorses, though - back to hunter-jumper land!

tkdryan; Ghost is a Gypsy Vanner. They're stunning horses; a compact draft that makes a great "van horse" to pull & can be used as a riding horse as well.
