Just as with other big threads in here, the original version of this one had grown too big and needed a replacement. And just like with the "What made your day" thread, I was hoping to split off the last couple week's worth of posts and start this new thread with them so we can have some continuity, but I couldn't -- the split function loads the whole thread onto one page, and with over 8,000 posts and TONS of linked pics it was too big to load up.

 

So we have to start this new one from scratch. Kinda sucks -- the original had been active since August of 2004!

If you get up close to the statue, it sort of favors Jackson Browne - one of the song co-writers and supposedly was the one who was stranded in Winslow when his car broke down.   The statue and corner is located at Standin' in the Corner Park in the middle of Winslow. The street next to it is part of the historic U.S. Route 66.
