I finished all 7 books in The Chronicles Of Narnia, some books were better than others and I didnt care for all the similarities in The Last Battle to the Bible.

The Talisman - Stephen King/Peter Straub

Good book and an interesting mix of fantasy/thriller/horror

I fargin loved that book. I may pull it out and read it again some day. I've already read it like three times. In fact I've read most of King's books at least twice and I think I've read The Stand four times.

But if you like The Talsman you'll like Black House, the sequel. Not as engrossing as the first but a good story.

I'll read Black House next new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

Rented Margaret Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale from the library today, having just finished (and, much to my surprise, thoroughly enjoyed) Oryx and Crake.

also:

Terry Pratchett - Mort

J.R.R. Tolkien - Fellowship of the Ring

I haven't seen the movie version of The Handmaid's Tale. How was it? And I'm glad you liked Oryx and Crake. I may re-read it now. smile.gif

I just completed my Ayn Rand fiction with We the People (it's been staring at me from my bookshelf for the past couple months). I'm now moving on to Robert Heinlein, starting with Stranger in a Strange Land, and then The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

BTW... i picked up "My Friend Leonard" on tuesday night... and finished it last night...
it's a sequel to AMLP.... it follows James' life after rehab, and focuses primarily on the relationship between he and Leonard...a man he befriends in AMLP...

But...

But Leonard ran away!

Ah, shoot, now I know he'll return later in the story.

I love Dean Koontz! I enjoyed The Taking a lot as well. I just found Forever Odd at the library, and can't wait to get into it...imagine, a sequel! biggrin.gif

But right now I'm reading Saturday by Ian McEwan. I'm enjoying it tremendously, but it took some getting into...I want to read his Atonement next. Anybody else read any of his books?

Just finished reading this book, most excellent read and I highly suggest this book. Lots of information in it that I wasnt aware of and facts can even be checked for truthfulness. Astounding stuff and its neither pro democrat nor pro republican.
