From the front row in '86. Not the clearest pic, but that was what you got with a cheap crappy disc camera.

These are really great photos! I love the vintage quality!

Thanks, I took them with one of those old Kodak Disc cameras that were popular in the 80's. A crappy little camera that was covenient and small, but the negatives were literally about the size of your pinky fingernail, so if you were happy with the 3 X 5 pictures it took you were good. But if you wanted anything bigger, you were screwed 'cuz all you got were grainy images....like what you see here. I tried to clean them up, but there is really nothing you can do.

I think trying to clean them up actually made a couple the pictures worse.

Was 2nd row pit last tour in Houston...besides the look, which is totally worth it...the sound of the music on Alex's strings as you heard it come out the amps...can not be duplicated.

Cost be damned? Money well spent...get infront of Alex.

I do think it depends on the venue. Some front row seats are further than other front row seats at other venues..

At crappy venues (lol), you're far and looking up at the band. Others, you're maybe 1-2 feet from the stage and it's neck/eye level. You can see Neil great and you can tell when he's looking at you too wink.gif

Great story and great pictures...thanks for sharing them.

I'm seeing them front row for the first time at PNC in Holmdel.

I've been as close as 5th row...so, needles to say, I'm pretty excited.

The countdown continues...

Something which may not be immediately apparent when talking about rows and whatnot... at outdoor venues where the rows are curved in an arc, it is feasible to be in "the front row" even though your tickets are in row #4 or #5. If you get seats at the very end of one of those rows, often times you'll end up being more-or-less right up against the stage, essentially "front row". Your mileage may vary of course, and venue seating charts are far from accurate, but you get the idea. smile.gif
