* Spoiler * The Opening Song is...

Score Out

Recommended Posts

Guys...Score Out is the real deal. If he says he knows...then he knows. Based upon his hints, it's major hit that probably gets the most radio airplay in your hometown.

Odds are it's one of these four songs:

TSOR

Freewill

Limelight

Tom Saywer

Since I highly doubt they will open the 1st set with MP you can scratch both Limelight and Tom Sawyer from the list.

That leaves TSOR and Freewill. Flip a coin...I hope it's Freewill because I like to hear TSOR later in the set. It's my favorite song and would hate to hear it so early.

But...my money is on.........TSOR.

Oh for Christ's sake......NOBODY on this forum knows anything for sure!  We do know that they are playing Moving Pictures in it's entirety...two new songs (one is named Caravan) and Jacob's Ladder (according to a new interview on Rush is a band by Alex).  Other than that, speculate all you want, but nobody knows what the opener will be yet.  In fact, I would imagine that Rush themselves have only recently finalized the set-list to give the engineers time to start pre-production on lighting, audio, and visuals while the band works through rehearsals.  Mid May should see the band get together and start running through the entire show on a semi-permamanet basis for rehearsals to work out the kinks.

However, given the criteria on the question at hand......my money is on The Spirit of Radio but I am hoping for a vault type of song like Analog Kid or Afterimage followed by an even more rare gem like Kid Gloves or Chemistry.

The key to the Time Machine Tour is Geddy's vocals.........I doubt we'll see Hemisphere's, Cinderella Man, Anthem, Bastille Day, or A Farewell To Kings unless they are in medley form.  As much as I would LOVE to see it again, those days and tours are over (glad I got to see them back then though).

Either way...it's Rush, so it will kick ass!

I'm sorry but you're incorrect. What I post I do know for sure - or else I'd state that it was opinion and not fact. There could always be some tweaks to the setlist in rehearsals (recall that the R30 Overture came about late in the game) but the setlist was created about 6 weeks ago.

If you are 100% sure of the opening song, as you claim, my question would be your source and whether or not you know the entire set-list?

His source is internet rumors. As with every other tour theyve ever done, we've never known what the exact setlist was before opening night.

You're a nincompoop. Last time you made such silly accusations you ended up embarrasing yourself with these gems:

http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?act=...dpost&p=1900709

http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?act=...dpost&p=1900713

Dude I hope you're really Geddy because if you are these posts are awesome. 1022.gif

Most often, the people who claim to have 'inside' information really don't...OTHERWISE....they would site their sources. If I worked for Rush or the company in charge of the tour.....I would come right out and say it. I HIGHLY doubt that anyone who works for the band has to sign a non-disclosure agreement as to the contents of the set-list. That is just ridiculous. By that logic, we are assuming that people would be less inclined to attend if they don't like what's being played. Regardless of the set-list gems.....the set-list is very predictable based on common sense. Yes, we are getting The Camera Eye and Jacob's Ladder this time around after years of fans begging for it. I really love the idea of a 'B sides tour'......as they stated would be fun to do. The fact that it has emerged as a Time Machine Tour gives me hope that some really great vault 'gems' will be pulled out and dusted off. I would think that playing some of those older 'rarely played live' songs would give the band a chance to record them live as well.

I think the end state is that people get wrapped up around these things prior to the tour...and that's okay. We are all on this forum for a reason...we love Rush and are passionate about their music. Now that I am 40.....I can honestly say that they have been the soundtrack to my life. So seeing them perform any of their songs is a real treat!

Except maybe Dog Years...LOL

I'm not going to give sources - sorry. I think we went through this on the tour postings a month or two ago.

As far as the setlist, let's say I have access to the whole thing. I know the setlist conceptually and just about everything that's going to be in there however I want to leave a few surprises for myself.

Lol, of course you wont post sources, because you dont have any. This guy says he knows the setlist, but wont say how. You dont know anything and dont have any connection with the band. This happens with every single tour, these people come out trying to impress everyone with their "inside knowledge" and "connections".

You're not posting the setlist because you know damn well you dont know what it is. If you really knew it there isnt a single good excuse you can come up with not to post it. Noone knows who you are, there is no way for you to get in trouble.

In the entire time that rush has toured while the internet has been around, Ive never seen a single person that posted an accurate setlist prior to the tour starting.

You're just looking for attention. I post my opinions on things, which I do believe im allowed to do, but you're actually lying which is pathetic. If you cant post the real set list or site sources then go away please.

Seeing as you are "always right"......what have you been right on besides "Rush will be touring this year"?......that was almost common knowledge, based on the interviews with the band in the last several months. Your criteria on the what the opening song is, is very general...Looking through your posts, I don't see anything solid that says you are affiliated with the band. "A few more shows will be added" etc, doesn't do it. What have you got that proves you are in the know, besides vague/recycled info that has been posted at other sites prior to you posting it on here?

He seems to know it WAY before anyone else and whats going to happen. Like before people were even talking about tours in interviews and what not, he said there would be a tour with a special concept behind it that everybody would be excited about. It did happen.

Ok but, "tour with a special concept".....that isn't much. They aren't touring behind an album this time around, so I think I could've called that one pretty easily. That's what I mean by being pretty general. Has he ever posted any exact info? I couldn't see any.

No, no. This was WAY earlier in the year though. Like, nobody thought about tours or a special concept. Remember we were all expecting an album a month or two back? Thats when he said that.

This was bound to come up some time but anyone think "Working Man" or Closer... could be used to open things up?

To my knowledge, neither has ever opened a Rush show. Closer... being an acoustic song, as a slower ballad type track, doesn't sound like the type of song to give the crowd an adrenaline err..surge.

Working Man on the other hand sounds like it would be great in that slot.

Or what about Roll The Bones? Yeah, it was a hit. However, unlikely for this tour. tongue.gif

I do not work for Rush or any company affiliated with Rush or the tour - so there's nothing for me to come out and say.

I am not going to post the entire setlist simply because I've given my word that I won't. Nothing more, nothing less.

Wow...you really are a putz! How about you put up or shut up? Here's an offer for you: Pick any slot in the setlist (ie - fourth song of the second set) and you give me 50 to 1 and let me bet you what the song is.

By all rights the odds of blindly selecting any random song in the right spot in the setlist should be about 150 to 1 since it could be anything in their catalog. Maybe 100-1 if you eliminate songs that couldn't possibly be played. So 50-1 should be easy money for you. Hell, I'll even let you make it 25 to 1.

If you're so sure I have no information and no connections, why don't you take me up on my offer? It should be the easiest money you've ever made.

If you P.M. the setlist i will send you a case of beer [your choice ]laugh.gif

I'm not going to give sources - sorry. I think we went through this on the tour postings a month or two ago.

As far as the setlist, let's say I have access to the whole thing. I know the setlist conceptually and just about everything that's going to be in there however I want to leave a few surprises for myself.

Wow...this really is getting unrewarding.

I'm not affiliated with the band. I just happen to be privy to just about everything going on with the tour. I guess there really isn't much upside in trying to share whatever pieces of it that I can - at least with this group.

If you reviewed all my posts from the past several months and felt that was all recycled info and lucky guesses then I'm not really sure what to tell you other than you're very poor at analyzing information and I must be a truly remarkable guesser.

Rush said it best: Show, Don't Tell

How many times do you hear it?

It goes on all day long

Everyone knows everything

And no one's ever wrong

Until later...

Who can you believe?

It's hard to play it safe

But apart from a few good friends

We don't take anything on faith

Until later...

Show...don't tell...

(Show me, don't tell me)

You've figured 'OUT the SCORE'

(Show me, don't tell me)

I've heard it all before

(Show me, don't tell me)

I don't care what you say

(Show me, don't tell me)
