Since there's been a ton of speculation all over the board about this one:

Assuming they don't call an audible in rehearsals, the Opening Song is...

* A single song, not a medley or overture

* Not Far Cry

* A "hit"

None of this surprises me, but I'm glad to hear confirmation of no medley.

I'm going to put out my guess as either "Dreamline" or "Fly by Night."

I would say no "FBN" only because it's way out of Geddy's vocal range now, and IMO it would sound really weird if they tuned down for it ("Circumstances" barely survived it the last time). But I wouldn't mind being wrong about that.

Please, I want Dreamline retired this time out. Not the opener. It's a great song, but time for a break.

Dude, you shouldn't drink that much before the show!

Wait, wait, wait...

You mostly just like Rush's heavier hard rock songs from what I can tell but you don't even like Far Cry? Maybe I'm not understanding you correctly.

A "hit"...to me, that means:

Spirit of Radio

Tom Sawyer

Limelight

YYZ

The Big Money

Closer to the Heart

Subdivisions

"Limelight" opened to last tour, so it's probably not that one...

"CTTH" starts too softly to open a show, IMO...

I don't think "Subdivisions" is the type of song they'd open a show with, but that's just my opinion. The beginning of this song isn't driving enough...

"The Big Money" is a dark horse. It has been and would again make a fine opener, and I suppose it can be considered a "hit," but IMO, Score Out is implying that it's a song that is one of the "must play" songs, and this one isn't in that category. They might not even play it...

"YYZ" is one of their most popular songs and would make a hell of an opener, but IF they're going to play Moving Pictures in order, that rules this song out as a show opener. Which leads us to...

"Tom Sawyer" is always a good opener, but they did that pretty recently on the Vapor Trails tour, so...

I therefore deduce that "Spirit of Radio" will open. biggrin.gif

(Unless of course there's another "hit" that I'm not thinking of.)
