1974FAN
I bought my Chicago ticket on Saturday and started thinking about what they would open the show with. After going through several maybes I stumbled across this idea. A theme and variations of the R30 show. TIME MACHINE OVERTURE: In The Mood Fly By Night Lakeside Park Something For Nothing Closer To The Heart Circumstances Leading into Freewill. OK, commence with the arguing!!! EmotionDetector
It's a good thought...but I don't see them doing this again since they did it on the R30 tour. I know Rush is always set on doing something different each tour, and never want to be redundant (insert setlist joke here). But seriously, they would probably look at another overture like this as "been there, done that", but I certainly hope they do something fun and innovative. Hey, how about starting the reverse, going from 'Far Cry' and back?!
Mara
That would be a fun opener, but my money's on "Far Cry". Who knows, though? It could be something all new and different.

theredtamasrule
Looking back TSOR has been an opener more than most so I'll say let's have the good ol' 3 Stooges intro with TSOR as the opener just to get it out of the way and it's a good way to rock the opener IMO. 3 Stooges TSOR New World Man Earthshine The Pass New Song Freewill Moving Pictures Intermission Far Cry By-Tor Xanadu CTTH New Song Subdivisions Jacob's Ladder Mal Nar Drum Solo Broon's Bane The Trees Time Stand Still TMMB Marathon Encore: Working Man/Finding My Way/Grand Finale La Villa

greg2112
I sincerely hope there isnt an "Overture mix" of any kind. That gimmick's been used already. Play the full songs.

Godeater2112
Dare to dream... I'd love to see them open with 2112. They could have a wild atmospheric extended version of the Overture intro as they came onto the stage - even start the intro off a bit differently so people would be like "WTF IS THIS?" but then they'd clue in and lose their minds.
