Sorry about that I should have warned you that it's been a very cold summer this year. The marine layer is in big time so it will be very cold and windy tonight in Mountain View!

Well it's about that time, I'm getting out of here to prepare my my journey down south!

Enjoy the show!

RUSH ON!

Wow. So, that was my first RUSH show EVER!!!

(tour/setlist spoilers below)

Me and my pop got there early. We heard the sound check while waiting in line (The sound check was a bass solo!(!!)( http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif ), Faithless up until the solo, Presto, and some of Subdivisions.) I also saw a bunch of people wearing Iron Maiden shirts, don't know what was up with that. We got decent lawn seats, they were around the center of the lawn and 20 feet or so from the guard rails.. Coming early paid off. For the hour and a half we were waiting in the lawn they were playing songs through the stereo. None of the songs really grabbed the crowds attention, until they played Knife-Edge by ELP, that's when a good amount of people cheered, which was awesome. When Geddy first came onto the stage I was in shock, he ran on stage hunching over his bass, making it look like he was sneaking his way on as a joke. That was a cool moment, I guess you could say my "Rush" life flashed before my eyes. I enjoyed every song they played besides Faithless/BU2B/Vital Signs. I payed attention (in visual terms) to Geddy the most; sometimes Alex. Geddy impressed me with the bass improvisations he would throw in during some songs, but I don't remember which songs they were (presto? LTTA? LVS?). It kind of sucked how I couldn't see the stage for the whole first set, so I just watched the screen above the stage. The people in front of me were blocking my view. By the time they were playing Marathon I was really fed up with having to stand on my toes and move my head around just to view parts of the stage. As soon as Tom Sawyer started the second set off I just stood up on the lawn chair we brought. From there on out I stood up on that thing and had a really great time, the 2nd set was amazing musically and visually. Yeah so, great show overall, really happy I went, it was the highlight of my summer, blablabla.

P.S. I have the image of Geddy swinging his arm like a pendulum (while playing Stick it Out) stuck in my head.

Absolutely amazing show!! Even though I was way back on the lawn, it was still an incredible experience.

I really enjoyed BU2B and Caravan... they totally rocked!! Loved Geddy's comment after they finished the Moving Pictures songs...

"So, that was the entire damn Moving Pictures album. What the hell is up with that?!?" LOL http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif

So glad I was able to see this concert in San Fran and really looking forward to the show in Tampa on Oct 1st when I'll be much closer to the stage.

Yeah I loved that too!

But I think it was more of along the lines of:

"That was Moving Pictures.. Damn, the whole album, what the hell is up with that?"

Who knows though, I can barely remember.... I want to see a recording!!!
