Ancient Ways
good for both parties. he seems like a good guy and is a great player. if he would have walked the twins fans would have been angry enough to kill the franchise.
ILSnwdog
It's nice to see a superstar sign on and stay with a small market team. Too bad we don't see these headlines more often.
mankad89
Good for baseball. And although Adrian Gonzalez is a smaller-name player, he's still a star...and even he expressed interest in staying with the Padres, even for a pay cut. A few months ago, there was talk about Adrian going to the Red Sox and the Yankees being in on Mauer. That would've been terrible.
MULTIPLIED REACTION
QUOTE (mankad89 @ Mar 22 2010, 11:29 AM) Good for baseball. A few months ago, there was talk about Adrian going to the Red Sox and the Yankees being in on Mauer. That would've been terrible. The Gonzalez to the Sox still might happen. I think Epstein is waiting to around the All Star break to see where the Sox are in the standings. Plus, if they struggle to score runs, i see him pulling the trigger.
