KaoKun1990
QUOTE (mankad89 @ Jan 31 2010, 08:29 PM) How are Middletown Dreams, Neurotica, Test for Echo, Driven, and especially Vapor Trail happy? They pump me up. Re-energize me...that's why I put them on the list.
Mr. Not
I was reading through this and, why hasn't anyone added Cygnus x-1 yet? I've been listening to it a lot ever since I got my AFTK shirt in the mail! It's very uplifting: I set a course just east of Lyra And northwest of Pegasus Flew into the light of Deneb Sailed across the Milky Way On my ship, the 'Rocinante' Wheeling through the galaxies Headed for the heart of Cygnus Headlong into mystery The x-ray is her siren song My ship cannot resist her long Nearer to my deadly goal Until the black hole Gains control... quickfree
I'd think Cygnus X-1 would be terrifying song if I were actually the guy in it. Lots of world moving and metaphysical stuff going on there.

With the exception of "Kid Gloves". Otherwise it's easily their darkest effort. Interesting because that's my favorite album.... All the songs on it lift my spirit except for Red Sector A.. So judging by that, 2112 could be their darkest too because it has "Tears" on it. And I can see how some of the lines in Between The Wheels, Afterimage, and other songs here and there can have a sad line; but the music is too good to make me think of it anywhere close to dark. Everyday Glory
"everyday glory" In the house where nobody laughs And nobody sleeps In the house where love lies dying And the shadows creep A little girl hides shaking, With her hands on her ears Pushing back the tears, 'Til the pain disappears Mama says some ugly words Daddy pounds the wall They can fight about their little girl later Right now they don't care at all No matter what they say... No matter what they say... No matter what they say... No matter what they say... Everyday people Everyday shame Everyday promise shot down in flames Everyday sunrise Another everyday story Rise from the ashes A blaze of everyday glory In the city where nobody smiles And nobody dreams In the city where desperation Drives the bored to extremes Just one spark of decency Against a starless night One glow of hope and dignity A child can follow the light No matter what they say... No matter what they say... No matter what they say... No matter what they say... Everyday people Everyday shame Everyday promise shot down in flames Everyday sunrise Another everyday story Rise from the ashes A blaze of everyday glory If the future's looking dark We're the ones who have to shine If there's no one in control We're the ones who draw the line Though we live in trying times We're the ones who have to try Though we know that time has wings We're the ones who have to fly... dakota2112
I hate being the one to bring non-Rush songs into this, but... "September" and "Sing a Song" (both by Earth Wind & Fire) are pretty daggone happy songs. Ok, now back to Rush content I vote for the ending of Hemispheres.
