no alcohol sales at todays Jets game

They will not sell alcohol at tonights Jets game in attempt to the crowds drinking/behavior.

I think its a poor decision and complete bullshit that will backfire on them.

First, if I had a ticket to the game and they announce at the last minute that there is to be no alcohol sales I would be furious.

Watching football = drinking

Secondly, I would have to guess bet the tailgaters get extra pickled while tailgating?

Take a page from the old Eagles playbook - get a judge to come to the games and have a drunk tank AT the stadium. They did that for a while at the Vet. Now they just kick people out...

i still don't understand how they think this is a good idea.

instead of selling shitty beer at exorbitant price it seems they are encouraging everyone to overindulge in the parking lot and then bring in a flask of booze.

It seems that now, a rock concert is more of a family friendly event that going to a NFL game...................

All this says to me is, a lot of people will enter the stadium hammered, with a pint of some booze tucked away somewhere under there garb.

I don't agree with the decision by the way. You should not treat your season ticket holders like children by not allowing them to have an alcoholic beverage if they want one. They pay waaaay to much money to go to these games to not allow them to enjoy the game as they wish, IMO.

If you want to stop selling early, I can deal, but none at all is not right. As I said, your fans pay too much money to attend.

To be fair this was also the last home game there, and it was probably to keep things under control so people didnt trash the stadium and take it apart at the end of the game http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/smile.gif

Well, the ticket prices are not under control so, I say, its not fair. The fans pay a shitload of money to attend and should be treated as responsible adults until proven otherwise.

I couldnt agree with you more, I was simply stating a fact. With proper security, this measure wasnt necessary, but I clearly understand why they did it.

Fu*k the fans? Think of all the money it saved them. Thousands of impoverished fans all went home with an extra $500 dollars in their pocket last night!!!!! http://www.therushforum.com/html/emoticons/rofl3.gif

I only drink occasionally and I don't understand why it is deemed "necessary" in order to have fun. Not that I am against it. I just don't think its absence would keep me from enjoying a football game.

wouldn't tearing the place apart be doing them a favor?

I went to RayJay to see the ACC championship game between Clemson and Georgia Tech a few weeks ago. It was in the forties which is cold as hell down here. Went straight in to get a beer and come up empty. The ACC doesn't allow alcohol to be sold at their events. The Clemson fans were amazed that we were normally allowed to buy beer. So, we froze our ballz off sober while watching two teams I don't care about - but the tix were free.
