Looks like the evil twin of a Gabriel era Genesis cover... but I like it.

Just love the fact Per's head is falling out of the tree biggrin.gif

Remember Kiddies: Old Opeth Good, New Opeth Bad (Probably)

You should try giving the "Old is Good, New is Bad" shtick a rest.

Why is new Opeth bad? is it bad to change up what you are doing?

It only says probably, but they have been going downhill since Blackwater Park smile.gif

They've got a long way to roll down the hill before they reach Rush though!

I suppose Ghost Reveries could be considered their "Moving Pictures" album, very successful but a lot of old fans consider it a sell-out. Could this one be their "Signals" moment?

Don't worry though it'll be a long, long time before Opeth's "Roll the Bones" album...

One thing, well it doesn't annoy me so much, but maybe roll my eyes a bit..

I know pretentiousness is common among many prog groups, and hell almost welcome at times... but do you really need to call your albums "observations" laugh.gif

Per the spoilers....PSYCHED!!!!!

That is some great news for me. Mikael I felt was always extremely talented. Those comments seem to prove it.

As a huge fan of their musical prowess, but not a huge fan of the death growling, I am very intrigued by these spoilers. Although I have heard from others that this new album would be growl-free. This just further confirms it.

You have to wonder, though, if Arkerfeldt has been bored with growling/death metal for so long, why did it take so long for him to change? Pressure from the record company to write and record that way? A little "This is what Opeth is, and this is what the fans expect" pressure?

No more growling?

Hmmm, Intrigued I am. The Growling is what kept me away from Opeth ( as well as other bands like BTBAM and Mastodon) for so long, but I admit I they did grow on me after a while... but still, I won't be sad to see them gone...

Ask -Jane- or sullysue. They've both been trying to get me into Opeth since around March of 2010. But every time I heard the Cookie Monster sing, I just couldn't do it. Now I am ok with it, borderline appreciating it. But I won't be sad at all if he drops it in the future recordings. There are what, ten albums of it (well 9 because Damnation is all clean.) I think that's enough to hold people over.

I'm very into all "eras" of Opeth. Old...new...whatever. I can't wait to hear this one.

Yeah they haven't come out with an album I haven't liked so far, I think this one is gonna be good too...
