Here's the Microsoft AV Link

http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/default.aspx

and also

http://onecare.live.com/site/en-us/default.htm?s_cid=sah

I can't comment on how effect either of these products are, as I've never tried them. I just stick to tried and trusted, such as Spybot, Avast and AVG.

In any case, having too many resident AV services running concurrently on your machine, will only cause lockouts, system resource problems and other conflicts. So best not have too many running at the same time

good luck

And just to be clear, Spybot is malware protection not anti-virus protection. Use it in conjunction with an anti-virus program. Malwarebytes is another good malware program too use in conjunction with your anti-virus.

Here is a list of different av software and some comparison testing for ease of use and effectiveness. Some are free and some are not but its a good measuring stick for choosing an effective av software.

I use Avast.

I do too.

yes.gif me three. Avast has been perfect, computer was contaminated with deep virus and my payed McAfee protection was damaged couldn't move forward and repair. Done a little research compared the free ones( had spybot b4 thought it sucked) Ended my automatic renewal with McAfee, what a major headache that was! Talk about getting the run around.... Installed Avast destroyed virus problem in a matter of minutes.

I've had this installed on Windows 7, and it's not bad at all:

http://www.microsoft.com/Security_Essentials/

I use Avast, my concern with Essentials (just as was with Onelivecare) is that malicious attackes seem to follow Microsoft while leaving other software alone, for the most part.
