This makes "more cowbell" seem almost unimportant. How could you violate a drum set like this...

Jebus. Every time I saw that abomination was on, it made me want to violate my TV with a hammer.

WOW...an absolute hate-on here! confused13.gif

I won't say much more, except that I'm a fan of his stuff personally. I agree, he's had some bad movies, and some 'okay' movies, which includes this one.

But Old School, Anchorman, Talledega Nights, and even his cameo in Wedding Crashers were absolutely priceless IMO. trink38.gif

Humour is a subjective thing. Ferrel's hit on a particular schtick for his movie ideas/roles and I think he's done a solidly funny job in all of them. I just watched Blades Of Glory which I thought was at least as good as any of his previous outings. His movies are comparable to just about anything Apatow and Co. have done.

Ferrell is easily the funniest and most consistent of ex-SNLers.

P.S.: I haven't seen Step-Brothers yet.

He should have stopped at "Anchorman" and "Wedding Crashers."

"Elf" was my favorite Ferrel movie.

Same thing happened with Jim Carrey... they ride the tide of their "catch-schtick" until it gets too old.

I'm sure it's hard to say, "ok, time to reinvent myself" when you've made so much money doing your thing. I think Jim came back and made some very good movies and hopefully Will will make that change as well.

See, I never found Carrey or his movies (at least his first few big hits) all that funny or interesting.

I honestly don't think Ferrell has worn out his schtick just yet. Many more spoofs to be made. And like I said, I think Blades Of Glory might just be his funniest movie to date. He's also smart enough to surround himself with a good supporting cast in all of his movies.
