Are you talking about little Wakeman, or the wizard-of-the-keyboards Rick Wakeman? You're right, he's gone too. Who's left now, just Howe and White...and, neither of them are original members. So, already, the whole thing is a a bust....Time to fold up shop and enjoy early Spring on the English Hillside. I'm sitting here wasting time as we do, and going through some of these minor bands from the 70's. Anyone ever hear Trevor Rabin's first outfit, called Rabbit? Most of it is really rather poppish, but there are hints of his future style in there if you listen close enough. I forget which tune of the three gives hint to his future incarnation as a Yes-man. http://www.myspace.com/rabbittsa If yer up for checking out some new old stuff, the band on the bottom of the page, 'Lake' are awesome. 'Fuzzy Duck' knows how to kick out the jams as well. Edited April 16, 2009 by naturalsciences101

Xanadu93
And, as per the rules of touring, the South has absolutely no market. Why can't mgmt. grit their f**king teeth and add dates in Atlanta and Miami - there are a lot of people in the South, y'know, that'd be interested in seeing Yes and Asia! One of the pluses Rush (as well as Green Day - who have had the same lineup for nearly twenty years) has over Yes - there are only three members, and they haven't had a bazillion lineup changes like Yes did. But, my God, Jon is the voice of Yes, as well as the spirit! Benoit just didn't come up with stuff like Tales From Topgraphic Oceans, Close To The Edge, Relayer, "Awaken" and "Heart of the Sunrise". Jon's got to be in the band - if they're only doing 24 dates, with a shorter setlist, I think he'd be able to do it. I think I read a post on YesFans (or maybe it was here?) - a joke post, though - that mentioned Jon formng the rival Anderson Bruford Wakeman Rabin - though Billy Bruford is retired, that would be one helluva group. Just grab hold of Geddy while Rush are taking their break (or extend the break ), and have 'em all get together and write some stuff. Yeah, it's a dream, but it's fun to dream, isn't it? After all.... what happened to this song we once knew so well? Edited April 19, 2009 by Xanadu93

PuppetKing2112
I like how last summer when they were touring with Jon, they were playing midsized outdoor amphitheater type of places, and then once they had to pull a cover-band singer off of YouTube, suddenly they were playing casinos and wineries like they were the Doobie Brothers or Grand Funk or something. From what I know they still left the door open for Jon to come back if he's healthy enough, and when/if he does, I'll definitely try to make it to a show. But f**k this shit. naturalsciences101
A few years back the band was going to try and bring the 'Drama' lineup back to life. I remember this disctinctly, now because of two reasons. I pushed a buddy of mine pretty hard to go and see this and we finally got tix...only to discover shortly after that the tour was cancelled. The other reason why this cancelled tour will be forever etched in my memory is because I asked a question at one of the Yes fan sites which, unbeknownst to me, was phrased in such a way to ignite an argument between W. Sherwood and S. Nardelli. I think that the arguement was long overdue to be honest. But, it felt weird to be the guy who ignited the explosives. The tour was to include the 'Drama' lineup of Yes, along with The Syn, Alan White's solo band, and, I believe, a solo guitar spot for Steve Howe. I wasn't familiar with The Syn's debut at that point, but now, in retrospect, seeing that material played live would have awesome. I was primarily interested in seeing the 'Drama' album given some real attention in a live setting, since the Jon-led YES never gave any of this material any respect. But, now we find ourselves in a world where Jon Anderson is no longer in YES. Don't like it one bit, but that's where we are. How awesome would it be for the guys to seriously consider this 'Drama' idea once more? Actually, during this new tour, the bands will only be one man short of reviving the 'Drama' lineup. Only Trevor Horn isn't scheduled to attend. Even though it is highly unlikely that there will be a 'Drama' set on this tour...I think that IT IS highly likely that they will give the fans one, possibly two songs from this albums since Geoff Downes will be in the house, and because of how they shortchanged fans during the cancelled tour. Yes, I do believe that some 'Drama' material will be on the menu that evening.

Xanadu93
I just searched Amazon for Jon's Change We Must album (I was thinking of ordering it, along with Magnification and The Ladder this weekend), and it's going to be re-released on June 23!! There's no information on whether it's remastered - only says "IMPORT" - but otherwise, this is good, I'd like to not have to buy it third party due to its age. http://www.amazon.com/Change-We-Must-Jon-A...40685867&sr=8-1 Edited April 25, 2009 by Xanadu93

naturalsciences101
No one has any thoughts on whether YES will soon give a nod to some DRAMA material, since they have a fair majority of that 1980 lineup on board for this tour? Listening to 'The Endless Dream: Talk' (11:55) right now and this thing is a real hum-dinger, eh? The largest (most epic) of the Trevor-era pieces. Right? Woulda been nice if they tackled something of this size and scope a bit earlier. But, that would not have been keeping in the spirit of the 80's, which was all about quick, short, Pop tunes. The classic lineup would soon return to this type of epic fare again with things like Mind Drive, In The Presence Of and That, That Is...And, I really was counting on just one more studio effort with this type of large-scale focus. Just one more album woulda been nice.

naturalsciences101
I want to know who here is familiar with Yezda Urfa? Another American outfit in the 70's, like Starcastle, who wear their YES influence on their sleeves, proudly. Most bands who copy another group's sound are usually viewed as despicable by me. I don't know why I'm so forgiving of these YES clones. Maybe it's because I just can't get enough of the real thing and wish that there was more YES material out there. This Yezda Urfa band temporarily satiates a unquenchable thirst for more YES. Well, in their defense, they're not ALL about YES. They also rip off Gentle Giant too. Tell me if you've heard the band before. If you haven't, have a listen here. It's definitely an item of interest for longtime YES fans. http://www.imeem.com/jbachleda/music/fAkI8...low-guides-are/ Yezda Urfa - Boris and his Three Verses http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EUBfxmQkRxA...from=PL&index=9 Yezda Urfa - Cancer of the Band

naturalsciences101
WTF? SHM-CD [super High Material CD] format features enhanced audio quality through the use of a special polycarbonate plastic? WTF? First I'm hearing of it. Although I did pick up a Jazz title, something from Bill Evans, and I think something like this was said on the disc itself. I am thinking SHM-CD is similar to XRCD, which ultimately is still just as good as a good ol' CD. Think, eh? Is this the first time that 'The Solos' will be back in print since it was taken off the market due to its extremely high mercury content? Now, DO NOT touch the 9012Live CD itself if you happen to be preggo. Something can happen. I don't remember exactly what it was. I think it was that you'll have twins, and each twin will have twin, dual propellers on their thumbs. Imagine doing that to a child, and knowingly so....Oh, no, it wasn't that. It was that the kid will be born wih an incredibly good ear for good music.
