troutman
The home plate umpire is missing a lot of calls that are strikes from the Tampa pitcher. Even the announcers are commenting on it!!

EveryNerveAware
Great conditions for a baseball game. What was it you were saying about the dome lerxst1990? Ok, now that the Rays have tied it up and they are now in a rain delay, what happens if they call the game? Is it a tie? Do they resume play tomorrow?!? What are the rules? EveryNerveAware
Ok, posted too soon. They just explained that since it is now a tie game, if they cannot resume play tonight it would be a suspended game and they would resume play when they can where they left off. Rays are very lucky they scored that run, otherwise the series could have been over due to weather. **WHEW**

What was it you were saying about the dome lerxst1990? Ok, now that the Rays have tied it up and they are now in a rain delay, what happens if they call the game? Is it a tie? Do they resume play tomorrow?!? What are the rules? This game should have never been started, the whole affair was a disgrace. The game was started in a light rain withthe radar showing heavier rain to come all evening and through tomorrow. The Rays scoring let MLB off the hook. If the Rays did not tie it up, MLB would have made them play through this muck to avoid having the Phillies win by rain out (and we in Phillly want NOTHING to do with that!). MLB lucke dout, with the tie and the new rule, the game is suspended. The game will resume in the bottom of the 6th when play can continue, which my guess is Wednesday. They should not have pressed on in this weather. It insults the game, the players and the fans.

Anthemic
i hate tim mccarver with the proverbial burning passion of a thousand suns. i was never so happy as when the mets got rid of him as a broadcaster and am perpetually dismayed every time i watch a game on fox and have to listen to his strident obnoxious garbage! there's no way randy johnson will get a hit HA HA HA. oh and why is that pitcher focusing so much on that phillies runner at first? Also, if the Rays eventually win this game and it is played tonight, I assume they would have to move back the game 6 schedule a day for travel? ashpkt
Selig always has been and continues to be the most inept Commish in all of sports. They made this decision in team meeting on Saturday but yet, no one else knew about it. Basically they crossed their fingers hoping the rain would pass and never let anyone know that the game may be postponed b/c the moment they did they would have lost the entire viewing audience. Way to deceive your fans Bud. Now that the Rays tied up the Phillies, can't you see the impending 'come back' whenever this game resumes. This series is another example waiting to be added to this thread... http://www.therushforum.com/index.php?showtopic=44082 If the Rays come back to win...holy sh!t...call out the National Guard b/c Philly is gonna riot.
