ILSnwdog
So, what bands are from your home town? Chevelle is from Grayslake, IL, which is the next town over from me. If we include all of the Chicago area, we have: Smashing Pumpkins Stabbing Westward Disturbed Ministry I'm sure some other Chicagoans can help out. So, who's from your hometown? invisibleairwaves
Theory of a Deadman are from Delta, BC, which is the next town over from Surrey. I was born in Newmarket, Ontario, home of Glass Tiger and Tokyo Police Club (I went to the same high school as them...they were in grade 12 when I was in grade 9). And apparently Geddy's parents ran a business there...dunno if he ever lived there or not.

tupelobarchetta
Here in Tupelo we have Paul Thorn, the boxer-turned-singer/songwriter, and one of the hardest working club bands in the Southeast, the Spunk Monkees. Also from Tupelo is Guy Hovis, who used to rock out on the Lawrence Welk Show with his gal Ralna way, way back in the day. The only name bands in my neck of the woods are from the Memphis area: North Mississippi All-Stars and Saliva. Three members of Blind Melon are from the Golden Triangle area in Mississippi, about 60 miles south of Tupelo.

I do miss the good ole days The Gits were more local I think though they were known across the Country from Club tours and especially in California. Mia Zapata, vocalist, bacame an icon of the Grunge scene after her murder at the beginning of the 1990's. Her body was found on Capital Hill close to the Comet Tavern- to which she was headed- with her hoodie up over her head and the drawstrings wrapped around her neck. She was a nice girl, I liked her
