ColdFireYYZ
QUOTE (ReRushed @ Dec 21 2010, 08:34 PM) QUOTE (ColdFireYYZ @ Dec 21 2010, 08:07 PM) Two things I can't stand: When older people say all new music sucks and when people my age think that all old music sucks. Music is timeless, good music is good music no matter how old or new it is. Yes. There are only two types of music - good music and bad music. And for younger people, isn't all music new? That is true, there are many bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's that I never heard before, and it is completely new to me. Its just annoying when people refuse to listen to a certain band because they are new/old.

But there are still many good new bands. Yeah, nickelback and creed and all that crap sound exactly the same, but there still are many bands that stand out, even if you don't see them on TV or hear them on the radio. ColdFireYYZ
Relatively recent bands that I just started listening to during the last year (from the last decade) that have talent: Black Country Communion, Frost*, Anberlin, Muse, Eight Whale, Metric, D'accorD, Pineapple Thief, and many more. Xanadu93
I had completely forgotten how good Panic! At the Disco's debut album, A Fever You Can't Sweat Out, was. Love the half-techno, half-classical approach, doing something so different from all of the typical Fueled by Ramen pop-rock groups. How did Pete Wentz sign this group to his label, considering that their debut was so much more musically diverse than anything Fall Out Boy had released, and Crazy stuff. I also have no urge to listen to their second record, Pretty. Odd., but that's probably because I so strongly associate it with spring and summer. Or it could be that I'm in the mood for the ambitious Panic!, not the Panic that made a Beatles-esque sophomore album. Regardless, it's nice for a group whose fanbase is mostly comprised of teenage girls to have two albums that are so stylistically different, whereas most of their "peers" rehash the same shit each time. fledgehog
jeff beck's most recent album, which is heavily dominated with slow, lush songs and epic string parts, makes me REALLY want him to write a film score.
