I just redecovered the Pink Floyd song Coming Back To Life. wub.gif

It was played on Rock Radio last night. I don't know why I didn't 'notice' it when I'd previously listened to The Division Bell.

Adding it to my current rotation.

It is impossible for Yes not to write a beautiful or powerful song. Even "Sound Chaser" has an angular, subtle beauty to it.

I am Damo Suzuki!

new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif Great song & album.

ReRushed I believe you & I are the most compatible on here in terms of music taste.

I don't have much Fall in my collection, but This Nation's Saving Grace is currently in high rotation. Great stuff.

I see, that's one of their best albums for sure.

If you like this one so much I'd also get The Wonderful & Frightening World of The Fall.

Similar sound to TNSG but with slightly lesser production.

Cruiser's Creek! Great Fall song.

Bon Jovi has a Best Of out. Well world, I hope you're happy.

How such rampant bollocksology got so popular is beyond me.

Blink-182 is still surprisingly simply genius.

Yes. <3

I'm also a fan of their side projects - Box Car Racer, Angels & Airwaves, and +44. I pretty much like all of the records by those groups more than most blink records, yet I always come back to the source.

I HATE that very few "modern" bands seem to understand what musicianship is.

i hate that people think this is true.

Yeah, it's silly to feel that way. I'm an old fogie and I know there are great "modern" bands out there.

and what you're both missing from Astro's OP: he said 'very few', not none

(and he is correct)

Pete Townshend's "Give Blood" has AMAZING playing on it:

astonishing, actually

I believe it's Simon Phillips on drums (I don't have the record handy at the moment) and I forget who plays the wall of fretless bass on that song, but it is colossal

maybe my favorite Pete Townshend song

I just listened to Clutching At Straws by Marillion for the first time and really enjoyed it. I can't wait until Misplaced Childhood arrives in the mail.

they're both masterpieces

try 'Lords Of The Backstage' as loud as you can stand with the windows down just before dusk, driving through the country...

I didn't miss anything. I simply disagree with the statement. There are a lot of modern bands that understand what musicianship is.
