circumstantial tree
I remember seeing him in "The Colbys" on primetime. It was a "Dynasty" spinoff around 1986. Katherine Ross played his wife Francesca and Barbara Stanwyck played his sister. The show only lasted two years. I never watched any of his movies but I did see him in "Earthquake" from 1974 as Ava Gardner's husband.

JohnnyBlaze
Very sad. He was one of the first actors that I liked growing up...echoing what others said about PLANET OF THE APES & OMEGA MAN (among others).

softfilter
QUOTE (skyswing @ Apr 6 2008, 08:11 AM) I first learned of this by seeing The Owl's post last night. I wasn't sure just what I would say in reacting to the news at the time. As a person, he was a great American who stood solidly and boldly for beliefs and for that he should be admired. As an actor, he played well many roles of historical significance and did it with passion and intensity. He also could read the Bible better than anyone else I'd ever heard. Mr. Heston, thanks for the memories and work you've left behind for us to remember and enjoy. As a actor thought there was none better. For his political beliefs didn't agree on everything he stood for. But admired him for always standing his ground. Your right about his narrative on the Bible, watched a A&E or Discovery channel series with Heston long time ago on his journey to places from the Bible. Enthralling, well done. WorkingAngel
I remember seeing Planet of the Apes as a kid and I was captivated. And I know Midway is not considered one of his better movies, but I've always loved it. Edited April 8, 2008 by WorkingAngel

Magnus
Did anyone pry the gun from his hands? What do you think they'll do with it? And the Japanese speak english. Loved him in Ben Hur, and The Ten Commandments. Charlton Heston will be missed.
