Pags
I have to start one even if there already is one. This is one of the greatest shows to ever exist. It launched the careers of so many incredibly funny people, and for it's time really pushed the envelope. Everyone who was anyone in Hollywood wanted to be on it. And it had Goldie. http://rowanandmartinslaughin.com/groovy.gif http://www.webpan.com/thelaughin/images/show/goldie_hawn/goldie_hawn_laughin.jpg http://www.webpan.com/thelaughin/images/show/goldie_hawn/laugh-in_goldie_hawn.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4b7BGBa6MTI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIA1VS2bDa4&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQA5CpOLAiA&feature=related http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wh2nDkT-u5I&feature=related Edited February 13, 2008 by Pags

Jack Aubrey
We need to find the clip of Nixon saying "Sock it to me!" Politicians don't do stuff like that anymore. No, I'm not making this political, I'm just sayin'. Please, no one else make it political, either. Thanks!

EveryNerveAware
This was the first writing job that Steve Martin landed in his early career. He actually appeared on a couple of episodes as well. Just got done reading Steve's book "Born Standing Up" where he details his writing position on Laugh In. Great book, quick read and very well written. So many memorable catch phrases from this TV show like: "And that's the truth.... (rasberry)" - Lily Tomlin doing Edith Ann "One ringy-dingy...two ringy-dingies..." - Lily Tomlin doing telephone operator Ernestine "Verrry Eeenteresting!...." - Artie Johnson doing Wolfgang (Nazi soldier) "Here come de judge!" - Flip Wilson "Easy for you to say!" - Dan Rowan "Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls!" - Various "You bet your sweet bippy!" - Various

That explains why the show was so brilliantly funny. "Look that up in your Funk and Wagnalls" has to be one of my favorite of all time. Just awesome. circumstantial tree
I remember Henry Gibson as playing a leprechaun on "Bewitched". Funny, Arte Johnson had played an elf on "Bewitched" as well. Joanne Worley reminds of my an aunt by marriage that I met when I was about 3 years old. She lived in a trailor and chain smoked. Politicians don't do stuff like that anymore. No, I'm not making this political, I'm just sayin'. Please, no one else make it political, either. Thanks! I loved watching Laugh-In. At work some 20+ years ago we did a christmas skit that was like Laugh-In where we'd be dancing then stop and say some stupid joke. Was tons of fun! The reason I quoted Jack's post was because of his politician note. That is sad but true in the US but I gotta tell ya it is alive and well in Canada. Even our current Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, who is labelled a "robot" has been in some of the funniest comedy sketches ever. I love when they do this. Ok I won't say anything more "politicky"

Lady April
I have the series on DVD. My husbands mother had cancer and we were down in Arkansas with her just before she died and we were up late one night watching an infomercial on Laugh-in. I remembered re-runs of the show as a kid and we were all laughing hysterically for the first time since we'd heard the cancer was terminal. I told my husband I had to order the DVD's. That I think is the only time I have ever orderd from an infomercial. I love Henry Gibsons poetry
