♫Your voice is small and fading

And youre hiding here unknown

And your mother loves your father

Cause shes got nowhere to go

And she wonders where her dreams go

Cause the world got in her way

Whats the point in ever trying

Nothings changing anyway♫

See me.

Feel me.

Touch me.

Heal me.

Listening to you,

I get the music.

Gazing at you,

I get the heat.

Following you,

I climb the mountains.

I get excitement at your feet.

Right behind you,

I see the millions.

On you,

I see the glory.

From you,

I get opinions.

From you,

I get the story.

I looked out across

The river today,

I saw a city in the fog and an old church tower

Where the seagulls play.

I saw the sad shire horses walking home

In the sodium light

I saw two priests on the ferry

October geese on a cold winter's night

And all this time, the river flowed

Endlessly to the sea.

Two priests came round our house tonight

One young, one old, to offer prayers for the dying

To serve the final rite,

One to learn, one to teach,

Which way the cold wind blows

Fussing and flapping in priestly black

Like a murder of crows

And all this time, the river flowed

Endlessly to the sea

If I had my way I'd take a boat from the river

And I'd bury the old man,

I'd bury him at sea

Blessed are the poor, for they shall inherit the earth

Better to be poor than a fat man in the eye of a needle

And as these words were spoken I swore I hear

The old man laughing,

'What good is a used up world, and how could it be

Worth having'

And all this time the river flowed

Endlessly like a silent tear

And all this time the river flowed

Father, if Jesus exists,

Then how come he never lived here.

The teachers told us, the Romans built this place

They built a wall and a temple, an edge of the empire

Garrison town,

They lived and they died, they prayed to their gods

But the stone gods did not make a sound

And their empire crumbled, 'til all that was left

Were the stones the workmen found

And all this time the river flowed

In the falling light of a northern sun

If I had my way I'd take a boat from the river

Men go crazy in congregations

But they only get better

One by one

One by one...

When I find myself in times of trouble

Mother Mary comes to me

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

And in my hour of darkness

She is standing right in front of me

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be.

Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

And when the broken hearted people

Living in the world agree,

There will be an answer, let it be.

For though they may be parted there is

Still a chance that they will see

There will be an answer, let it be.

Let it be, let it be. Yeah

There will be an answer, let it be.

And when the night is cloudy,

There is still a light that shines on me,

Shine on until tomorrow, let it be.

I wake up to the sound of music

Mother Mary comes to me

Speaking words of wisdom, let it be.

Let it be, let it be.

There will be an answer, let it be.

Let it be, let it be,

Whisper words of wisdom, let it be.

Sometimes

I said sometimes

I go crazy

Like I'm crazy

It takes patience

Lots of patience

Then it's over

f*ckin over

I look at the sky faded

I read the stars

Maybe I don't know

How many people are starving

In this world long gone

I feel so lucky lovin' him

Tell me what else is magic for?

He thinks it's better left unsaid

He makes his mind up at a glance

It rarely made a difference

I seem to be unconditionally his

He's like a new guy everyday

And all the rest don't bother me

I'm far too busy lovin' him

I'll never be lonely now I know him

He fills my heart with joy

He makes my day

He just has to smile to blow my cares away

He just has to touch my hand to make me stay

He's all good lovin' at once

He's all good lovin' at once

He's all good lovin' at once

He's all good lovin' at once

Our love was unintentional

He says we're not responsible

He thinks with his chin up

He always makes uncommon sense

Always knows just what to say

He always takes me unawares

In less time than it takes to fall

I'm here and there you are

We never fought it anyway

I'll never be lonely now I know him

He fills my heart with joy

He makes my day

He just has to smile to blow my cares away

He just has to touch my hand to make me stay

OK, so I made a slight change.. tongue.gif

Ever since I was a little baby

Had the devil on my mind

Two dimensional Satan on the wall

And the thread would start to wind

Hold me closer

Move aside Mr. Wilson

Please move aside

In the sand the circle getting bigger

Till it all gets out of hand

On the mountain.. let go of the angel

And to my mom I ran

Hold me closer

Any day.. yesterday.. there's tomorrow to say

Let's forget it anyway

Can you try to understand...

What's this mark upon my hand

My nose was held shut and my mouth open

With a spoon shoved down my throat

One little piggy walking with a pumpkin

And a mustard headed goat

Hold me closer

Please move aside Mr. Wilson

Would you please move aside

Hey Betty May, it's summertime in Jersey

Don't you know the kids will freeze

Please don't pop your eyes out for me deary

Cause the man behind you sees

Hold me closer

Anyday... yesterday... there's tomorrow to say

Let's forget it anyway

Can you try to understand...

What's this mark upon my hand?

At the bottom of a box of five black markers

Is a buried Swedish pen

If at Thanksgiving... if you want to see me

Then you better be my kin

Hold me closer

For the love of god, Mr. Wilson

For the love of god

Anyday... yesterday... there's tomorrow to say

Let's forget it anyway

Can you try to understand

What's this mark upon my hand

Would you sing a song for me

'Cause I broke your rosary

Some people seem so obsessed with the morning

Get up early just to watch the sun rise

Some people like it more when there's fire in the sky

Worship the sun when it's high

Some people go for those sultry evenings

Sipping cocktails in the blue, red and grey

But I like every minute of the day

I like every second, so long as you are on my mind

Every moment has its special charm

It's all right when you're around, rain or shine

I know a crowd who only live after midnight

Their faces always seem so pale

And then there's friends of mine who must have sunlight

They say a suntan never fails

I know a man who works the night shift

He's lucky to get a job and some pay

And I like every minute of the day

I dig every second

I can laugh in the snow and rain

I get a buzz from being cold and wet

The pleasure seems to balance out the pain

And so you see that I'm completely crazy

I even shun the south of France

The people on the hill, they say I'm lazy

But when they sleep, I sing and dance

Some people have to have the sultry evenings

Cocktails in the blue, red and grey

But I like every minute of the day

I like every minute of the day

I been around awhile

I know wrong from right

I learned a long time ago

Things ain't always black & white

Just like you can't judge a book by the cover

We all got to be careful how we treat one another

Skin deep

Skin deep

Underneath we're all the same

Skin deep

Skin deep

Underneath we're all the same

We're all the same

A man in Louisiana

He never called me by my name

He said, "Boy do this and boy do that"

But I never once complained

I knew he had a good heart

But he just didn't understand

That I needed to be treated just like any other man

Skin deep

Skin deep

Underneath we're all the same

Skin deep

Skin Deep

Underneath we're all the same

We're all the same

I set my child down

When he was old enough to know

I said, "Out there in this big wide world

You're gonna meet all kinds of folks"

I said "Son, it all comes down to just one simple rule

That you treat everybody just the way you want them to treat you"

Skin Deep

Skin Deep

Underneath we're all the same

Skin Deep

Skin Deep

Underneath we're all the same

We're all the same

Way back in time

Someone said try some

I tried some

Now buy some -

I bought some . . . Oh Oh Oh

After a while

When I had tried them

Denied them

I opened my eyes

And I saw you . . .

Not a thing did I have

Not a thing did I see

'Till I called on your love

And your love came to me

OH OH OH OH OH OH

Through my life

I've seen gray sky,

Met big fry,

Seen them die

To get high . . . Oh Oh Oh

And when it seemed

That I would always be lonely

I opened my eyes

And I saw you . . .

Not a thing did I feel

Not a thing did I know

'Till I called on your love

And your love sure did grow

OH OH OH OH OH OH

Won't you try some

Baby won't you buy some

Won't you try some

Baby won't you buy some

Keeper of mysteries

River of Tears

After it's over

And after the years are passing

Never asking

What about miracles

Faith in the space

It keeps me guessing

With nothing to hate

I am lonely

And unholy

Everything matters

A prayer when you're scared

Boarded up windows

And broken down chairs before morning

Heard it storming

(God can you hear me...

God can you see me cry...die)

Handbook of rituals... hands in the air

More than a give up... big as a care

If you're daring

And you're sharing

Move me

God, can you hear me cry

God, can you see me die

God can you move me

Move me and move me again

Out of the planet and into the silence

Over the mountains in search of a crisis to find me

If it should be

Once I was told there's a race to be won

Pointed the finger straight into the sun to be blinded and I minded

(God can you hear me...

God can you see me cry...die)

Wish I could whisper how much I need you

After tomorrow I might forget to

If it's only from a story

Keeper of mysteries

River of tears

After it's over

And after the years are passing

Never asking

Move me

God, can you hear me cry

God, can you see me die

God can you move me

Move me and move me again

I Don't Know

[Daisley - Osbourne - Rhoads]

People look to me and say

Is the end near, when is the final day?

What's the future of mankind?

How do I know, I got left behind

Everyone goes through changes

Looking to find the truth

Don't look at me for answers

Don't ask me

I don't know

How am I supposed to know

Hidden meanings that will never show

Fools and prophets from the past

Life's a stage and we're all in the cast

You gotta believe in someone

Asking me who is right

Asking me who to follow

Don't ask me

I don't know

I don't know

I don't know

I don't know

Nobody ever told me

I found out for myself

You gotta believe in foolish miracles

It's not how you play the game

It's if you win or lose

You can choose, don't confuse, win or lose

It's up to you

It's up to you

It's up to you

It's up to you

Go, go, go

People look to me and say

Is the end near, when is the final day?

What's the future of mankind?

How do I know, I got left behind, now I'm lost

Everyone goes through changes

Looking to find the truth

Don't look at me for answers

Don't ask me

I don't know

One of my all-time, favorite non-Rush songs....

Low by Cracker

Sometimes I wanna take you down.

Sometime I wanna get you low.

I brush your hair back from your eyes.

I take you down let the river flow.

Sometimes I go and walk the street

Behind the green sheet of glass.

A million miles below their feet

A million miles, a million miles

CHORUS:

I'll be with you girl

Like being low

hey hey hey like being stoned

I'll be with you girl

Like being low

hey hey hey like being stoned.

A million poppies gonna make me sleep.

But just one rose it knows your name

The fruit is rusting on the vine

The fruit is calling from the trees

Hey don't you wanna go down

Like some junkie cosmonaut

A million miles below their feet

A million miles a million miles

CHORUS

Blue blue is the sun.

Brown brown is the sky.

Green green are her eyes.

A million miles a million miles

Hey don't you wanna go down

Like some disgraced cosmonaut

A million miles below their feet

A million miles a million miles

CHORUS

The time I think most clearly, the time I drift away

Is on the bus-ride that meanders up these valleys of green and grey

I get to think about what might have been and what may yet come true

And I get to pass a rainy mile thinking of you

And all the while, all the while, I still hear that call

To the land of gold and poison that beckons to us all

Nothing changes here very much, I guess you'd say it never will

The pubs are all full on Friday nights and things get started still

We spent hours last week with Billy boy, bleeding, yeah queuing in Casualty

Staring at those posters we used to laugh at:

Never Never Land, palm trees by the sea

Well there was no need for those guys to hurt him so bad

When all they had to do was knock him down

But no one asks to many questions like that since you left this town

Chorus:

And tomorrow brings another train

Another young brave steals away

But you're the one I remember

From these valleys of green and the grey

You used to talk about winners and losers all the time - as if that was all there was

As if we were not of the same blood family, as if we live by different laws

Do you owe so much less to these rain swept hills than you owe to your good self?

Is it true that the world has always got to be something

That seems to happen somewhere else?

For God's sake don't you realise that I still hear that call

Do you think you're so brave just to go running to that which beckons to us all?

No, not for one second did you look behind you

As you were walking away

Never once did you wish any of us well

Those who had chosen to stay

And if that's what it takes to make it

In the place that you live today

Then I guess you'll never read these letters that I send

From the valleys of the green and the grey

Thaney

"Mak' yer bed fu' broad, dear Thaney

Mak' yer bed fu' broad and wide

There will lie a southern suitor

And you shall be his bonnie bride"

"Faither dear, my bed is narrow

Narrow so it will remain

Never will I wed a stranger

I would raither lie my lane"

"Then I will call you no more daughter

I will call you no more mine

'Til the day you die you'll wander

Wander oot among the swine"

Thaney fae the ha' was banished

Banished oot in tae the night

By and by there came a lady

Busked in linens lily-white

Thaney beckoned tae the lady

Through the mirk she couldnae tell

That it was a fair-faced laddie

Come loomin like the earl o' hell

"Tak yer hands fae aff my shoulders

Tak yer hands fae aff my wame"

"I will tak' the one thing, lady

I never can return again"

He has left her lyin' lowin'

Lowin' there among the swine

Thaney saw her belly growin'

Growin' wi' the rue and thyme

Word has gone untae the castle

Word has gone untae the ha'

"Thaney has lain wrang wi' a stranger

She has let her snood doon fa'"

"Wae be tae the wanton Thaney

She has hattered at my heart

Take her tae the highest mountain

Tie her fast intae a cart"

They have shackled Thaney's body

Wi' her belly rowin' fu

Every man wi' stone stood ready

For to break her back in two

But wonders on the bonnie lady

Wonders on the Berwick Law

Tho' the stanes rained doon wi' fury

Not a one on her did fa'

Word has gone untae the castle

Word has gone through a' the land

"Thaney rose up like the morning

She stepped softly on the strand"

"Wae be to the wanton Thaney

Curses on her blithesome head

Let it be by Loth here commanded

I will live to see her dead

Without sail or row or rudder

It's you shall toss the wild, wild faem

Let the ocean's dogs devour ye

Never more you'll rise again"

But wonders on the bonnie lady

Wonders on the silver spray

Cradled by five thousand fishes

It's she has reached the Isle o' May

Through the turning tide they tumbled

Through the rattlin', rollin' storm

Safe at Culross Kirk she has landed

There she has her baby born

"I will make my bed fu' narrow

And in it I will lie my lane

And my bonnie boy there beside me

Nothing more to rue again"

This is about the tale of St Thaney, the daughter of King Lot of Goloddin (Of King Arthur et al fame).

Congrats on this mate, I never thought someone from across the pond would have unearthed this little gem.....
