Stormtron
It's weird that I don't have one hip hop album on my list this year. El-P is probably #11. I really like the Common album too.

PuppetKing2112
QUOTE (Storm Shadow @ Sep 23 2007, 11:36 AM) It's weird that I don't have one hip hop album on my list this year. El-P is probably #11. I really like the Common album too. That is weird...but the only three albums I'm still looking forward to (now that Radiohead and Mars Volta are pushed back to 08) are Jay-Z, Wu-Tang, and Lupe. Stormtron
I just can't get excited about Wu-Tang or Jay-Z for some reason. Have you heard Jay's new song "Blue Magic"? The Neptunes produced it, but it's very ehhhhhhh. Up until like last month, RZA was saying Ghostface wasn't going to be on the new album, but now he is? Sounds like they really came together and made a group album, huh. I get the feeling that it's going to be sort of halfassed like the last few. "Watch Your Mouth" is okay though. I really want the album to be good. I am kinda looking forward to Fam-Lay's album. Seems like Pharrell gives his good beats to Clipse and their affiliates, and the guy's got that same kinda ignorant but smart vibe like Clipse. There were good hip hop albums this year though. Joell Ortiz, Kanye, Common, El-P, Aesop Rock...there were just better metal ones.
Mandalorian Hunter
This year's been pretty good for music. Just about tops last year. Aswell as Snakes & Arrows, Blackfield II, Arcade Fire's Neon Bible, Bloc Party's A Weekend in the City, Foabp, Klaxons' Myths of the Near Future and the new Foo's album have stood out. ILSnwdog
The only two new CDs that I have bought this year are Snakes and Arrows and Fear of a Blank Planet. Both are incredible! I wish I had time to follow the music scene like I did before the wife and kids sucked up my free time.

I do buy plenty but a lot of them are filling in titles that were previously released that I'm catchign up on. I usually take to new music slowly. The only recent exception to this is Porcupine Tree. I got them right away and am picking up their back catalog as quickly as I can digest the material.
