Milton Bridge
Help I am hopeless at putting together good playlists for my Ipod. I would like a good rocking mix for running and going to the Gym. About an hour. Any suggestions?
New World Manny
"Marathon" (duh) (and actually all of Power Windows is a damn fine workout soundtrack, imo) Other specific tunes: Red Barchetta Closer to the Heart (either A Show of Hands version or the Different Stages version) Hemipsheres La Villa Strangiato The Analog Kid New World Man High Water Dreamline The Big Wheel One Little Victory
Maraca
Try this: Far Cry The Analog Kid Best I Can Kid Gloves Marathon New World Man Mal Nar YYZ The Enemy Within Freewill Leave That Thing Alone One Little Victory
darrenhigh
Try some other bands as well. I find most of their stuff is too thought provoking to run to. I find myself wanting to stop running and just listen. I have about a 350 song running playlist and the Rush songs that I haven't skipped lately are: Far Cry Earthshine One Little Victory Between the Wheels Dreamline Marathon (go figure) depending on what point I am during the run I may listen to something a little more laid back. I find getting lost in music great when you know you have another few miles to go and your legs are starting to hurt.

ghost of a chance
All Counterparts and Vapor Trails are good for me in the fitness gym hall...but sometimes I also put some heavy metal in my playlist - some speed tracks from Iron Maiden, Iced Earth, something like this... Show Don't Tell
Yes, Marathon and The Enemy Within are both great running tunes. My full list would be: -The Big Money -Marathon -The Enemy Within -The Analog Kid -One Little Victory -YYZ -Earthshine (R30 Version) (Unless you like the crappy sound from VT.) -Force Ten -Closer To The Heart (Different Stages or A Show of Hands version) -Far Cry -Working Man You could throw in Double Agent, or Vital Signs there, too. Happy running! (And remember: It's not how fast you can go; the force goes into the flow!)

I put it far enough down on the list so that when I'm about to DIE of exhaustion, I've got Geddy telling me "Can't stop moving!"

iluvgeddy05
Most of Counterparts, Others: The Main Monkey Business MalNar Marathon of course! The Big Wheel (personal fave). Natural Science -- starts slow, but that parts good for the warm up. Pretty much anything that gets your adrenaline going when listening to it and not running I can run to Mission since it's my favorite song, but I can see how this might be weird for others.
