ReRushed
Here are three of the top of my head: Black Uhuru - Red The Congos - Heart of the Congos The Upsetters - Super Ape Of these three you have to, at least, get Red. Oh yeah, get the The Harder They Come soundtrack. Edited May 17, 2007 by ReRushed

Mustard Death
I like reggae a lot, but only in small doses... and sometimes while under certain influences. I prefer listening to dub... which originated from reggae. It's a really interesting genre... you guys should check out King Tubby, Scientist, and De Facto. De Facto is actually Cedric and Omar of TMV and At the Drive-in (I think Ikey-Owens plays keys too), so if you're looking to get into dub and like the Volta, De Facto is a good starting point. -D-RocK-
Ya mon! Burning Spear probably my favorite. If you want to hear a really good raggae record, look for "Dub Side Of The Moon" by The Easy Star All-Stars. It's a re-working of "Dark Side...." (by Floyd of course) and even has instructions in the liner notes on how to synchronize the album to The Wizard Of Oz. It's a great album nonetheless...... -D-RocK-
Yes MDeath, if you can't pick it up at a record store, you should at least be able to order it. My 70 year old uncle turned me on it. He's like the reigning reggae/ganga conniossuer. Lives in Jamaica 4 months a year. Always brings back great reggae.
