Cool! Thanks for posting that. I bought FOABP and Deadwing specifically so I would be familar with some of the the setlist and it looks like I am in good shape.

thanks

I have only been listening to them since FOABP came out and i am rushing to get acquainted with their back catalog. I get more out of concerts when I am very familiar with the songs. This will help.

Just for the hell of it I entered a contest through e-mail to win tickets to see Heaven and Hell, Alice Cooper, and Queensryche tomorrow night. I won four tix - cool. I only saw Sabbath with Gillian back in the day. It will be cool to see Dio, even if he is 65 y.o.

If you plan on seeing this show there are "spoilers" coming.

Well, that was interesting. Geoff Tate sounds incredible live. However, Queensryche had terrible sound problems and actually had to stop for five minutes until it got worked out. didn't sound much better though and no encore. Alice Cooper was a surprise. I would never dream of sitting down and listening to his music but his stage show is cool. He has a very tight band that has re-arranged and modernized all of his songs. It's like he influenced Rob Zombie and then in turn Alice was influenced by Rob. Very theatrical production. Heaven and Hell/Sabbath? A little uninspired and plodding. Big solo from Vinnie Appice but nothing from Geezer which is a shame. Toni played about 40 solos of course. Dio would completely skip non-difficult notes or cheat and then in the next line would add in these really high notes that sounded great. A lot of improvising on his part. He had a lot of energy as well.

More show news: I had a change of plans with the Decemberists 12/5 and 12/6 shows. Both of the friends I was going with bailed on me, and so I have no one to go with now, and since the Crystal is in kind of a sketch part of town, I don't want to go by myself. So I'm thinking that I will probably sell my 2-day pass once I get it in the mail. BUT, my dad and my brother are going to the third show (12/7), which is all requests. So I'm going with them to that.

Thanks for the setlist. I'm sure that you found out they made some adjustments to it. Great show. I was getting into them slowly but that showmade the difference. Amazingly tight band, interesting songs, and unique, but effective stage presence from Steve.
