Going to see Styx tomorrow at Treasure Island casino, near Red Wing, Minnesota. :haz:

My friends got lousy seats, though. Way off to the side and high up..... :boo hiss:

Wellmont Theatre - Montclair

Any of the New Jersey TRF contingent interested?

I've seen them before. They're pretty good.

Metallica on Friday night! We are not in the best seats, however, I'm really excited about going. It will be my second time seeing them :haz: Edited by Leanne

No need to get there early. There won't be an opening band, and the "comedian" that is supposed to "warm up the crowd" is embarrassingly bad. In Charlotte, Metallica didn't take the stage until 8:46pm and the sound was horrible. Part of it is that we were up high, but, I watched some you tube videos from the same show and they were not much better. I've never been so disappointed in my life.

I sincerely hope that the sound is better and that you guys have a better experience that I did.

Wow, I'd totally go see that. Let me know how they sound and if they're on a nationwide tour. Thanks.

I'm catching them on tuesday. I last saw metallica ten years ago and didn't plan on seeing them again, but I couldn't pass it up since it was only around fifty bucks after fees. arenas sound like shit in general, so I'm not expecting much in the way of acoustics - facilities built for hockey games usually aren't the best places to hear music. I'll still enjoy myself

fun show. me and some friends got an airbnb and ubered to the arena so we could party. I didnt agree with all the song choices but they played enough old shit to please me - battery, creeping death, etc

Yeah, I was surprised that they played a lot of old stuff. I like the new album, though, so that didn't make me mad that they played those songs. Those fireflies coming out of the bottom of the stage was awesome.

Glad it went well.

I've ordered, and bought a ticket for, and to see "Iron Maiden" on their "Legacy of the Beast World Tour" in Vancouver on Sept. 3.

Added Styx in Morristown, NJ on 20 May to the list...very excited.

They just played "The Mission" in its entirety at a show and I've got my fingers crossed for the same at the New Jersey gig as well!

I checked them out on YouTube and decided against it. The weather was bad for driving, so I didn't think it was wise to travel, either. Edited by goose
