Tim McGraw and Faith Hill

July 8th TD Garden

Boston, Mass.

I'm a HUGE Tim fan, I'm seeing them here in NJ in May. I was one of the lucky ones to go to Nashville last month.

How did you get so lucky to go to Nashville ? hey you'll be seeing Tim and Faith before me in 2017. Wonder if anyone else will be with them to open?

The fan club randomly picked a fan from each market that they will be touring in next year, so I got picked for the NJ area....I've been out of work since March and this was a really big pick-me-up. They paid for everything, it was pretty awesome.

I hope they don't have any openers!!

So my next concert is tonight, I'm going to see Mannheim Steamroller - I have a Styx girlfriend who is friends with Tom Sharpe, who is their drummer/percussionist extraordinaire, so she was able to snag us tickets. I've never seen them. And given my mood lately, (depressed/panicked about unemployment ending in a month) this will be a really nice night.

We just booked Dream Theater (just me), Brand X, Marillion and Carl Palmer within 10 minutes on Saturday.

I've been on CD binges before, but this is uncharted territory. I'm not sure I want to add that up.

How was Carl Palmer? I shoulda gone by myself to that one.

It was Awesome! Sixth time I've seen him since 2010. Different set this time around too.

I don't know if it was mentioned before (or if it was just Carl being Carl) but he said Keith Emerson was supposed to join him for the tour this year and they played the set that Keith and he agreed on. I had no idea so that bummed me out a bit. But they were on fire as usual. Carl left it all on the stage. He was breathing heavily after many of the tunes (which I thought was kind of scary.) They even covered America which a Nice song (as in The Nice which was Emerson's band before he formed Emerson Lake and Palmer.) There were a few other rarities (which I liked) but it was pretty much a greatest hits set even if some of those got left out the last few times I saw him. I'm hoping he comes back next year.

I go to shows by myself about half of the time. If I REALLY want to see someone I don't let something like that stop me. Brand X is next on my list in January..

Oh, I go alone too but sometimes it just gets old. Geoff Tate is playing city winery in nyc next year I might have to go and I'm sure I will be alone for that one. I just did the Trinity show last weekend by myself at Bb Kings, was really fun. Blaze Bayley is a total nut job.

Anyway, concert sounds like it was great.

It was.

I jumped off the Tate/Queensryche thing after American Soldier (The last one I liked.) Liked Tate's first solo album too, Haven't heard the second.

The Trinity thing sounds like an interesting concept though. I'm sure Tate will be bringing his wine with him!

How was it? I imagine it was a holiday music set?

Just have a few of their Christmas albums that sometimes get played this time of year (Too many Christmas albums!)

I think the tour is over now, but it was fun. It was neat watching the three of them interacting on stage. Tate was clearly the boss though. I LOVE his first solo album, I don't have the others.

yes, it was mostly holiday music and then other stuff too. I've never seen them before, it was a nice change. And then we hung out with Tom Sharpe (the drummer) and the bass player and a few others in their tour bus after. My first tour bus, lol. They have a woman playing harpsichord with them on tour and she decorated, it was very festive! I'm sure it wasn't like other tour buses....

But it was nice show, we were in the fifth row. (And the price was right)

Yes, I have way too many Christmas albums too. A lot of the standards and then some not so standard. Bobby Sherman falls into the latter category!

Sounds like it was a nice evening at a great price. Can't really beat 5th row either. I haven't been on a tour bus either. That must have been fun. Depending on who it is sometimes I'm waiting outside of the tour bus.

Yeah it was really pretty cool. And I left out the best part somehow the bass player and I got to talking, I asked him what kind of music he likes and he said… He been listening to Rush on vinyl lately. So of course that kicked off a whole conversation and we talked about the movie and everything.

I may see Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers in Canandaigua in July

May also see Guns N Roses in Buffalo if tickets aren't super expensive

I love GnR, but i think Axl's voice is shot nowadays.

I love when that happens. (Not that it happens a lot.)

June 24, 2017

The Tacoma Dome

7th row on the Floor right on the aisle between the center section and left section. Paid $400 EACH for the tix but it's the closest my wife will ever get to seeing Pink Floyd and after watching his performance at Desert Trip on youtube I just had to go too.
