Mr. Not
Great mention of Ty here on this page of the article: http://www.guitarworld.com/cult-leaders?page=0,7 also, I read a long while ago that American Cheese (Jerry's Pianto) was the second released studio track to feature Jerry Gaskill as lead vocalist. Since then I've been listening through Out of the Silent Planet - Dogman in anticipation to find out the first one, and this whole time I made a huge mistake! I thought Ty Tabor was singing lead in Seven Broken Soldiers! What was I thinking? I'm glad Jerry's better, I did get their Burning Down Boston - their fun little JerryCharity bootleg. Again, on facebook Jerry is said to be working on a new solo album, and I highly recommend His 2004(?) recording "Come Somewhere"
Mr. Not
www.youtube.com/watch?v=KaVDrtnByEw Gotta love Dug - he's honestly not into The Beatles We need more people who can admit that. I don't like them all that much either.
Mr. Not
Ranking their studio albums... I feel like I should. Great (Not a dull moment) Please Come Home... Mr. Bulbous King's X (self titled) Faith, Hope, Love Very Good (Some outstanding songs, and a slim few I don't particularly favor.) Gretchen Goes to Nebraska Dogman Ogre Tones Tape Head Good (Worth visiting for a few songs) Out of the Silent Planet Ear Candy Manic Moonlight XV Decent (Nothing so remarkable) Black Like Sunday ^ Black Like Sunday being there is no surprise though, since the tracks are all songs they wrote in the early 80's. Johnny is a great song, one of my favorite by King's X - but it doesn't exactly save the album from the rest of the songs, which are fun to listen to sometimes, but overall not everything what I expect from King's X
Mr. Not
Here's just an outstanding cover of Goldilox by Billy Sheehan! He also talks about how he feels the band is very underrated before he starts playing
rocket ignites
QUOTE (Ovningskora @ Jun 8 2012, 06:08 AM) After two years of listening I have decided that "Please Come Home... Mr. Bulbous" is without a doubt the best album I've ever heard. Unique & abstract greatness from front to back. "Bulbous" is so trippy and bizarre (in a good way)...great vocals/harmonies by Ty and Dug...no doubt it's my favorite King's X album...and I own 'em all. My only minor complaint is that it seems a song or two short as an album. That said, "Move Me" is probably my favorite all time King's X song. It's all subjective. Any King's X is good King's X. Here's my split up: GREAT: Out Of Silent Planet Gretchen Goes To Nebraska Dogman Ear Candy(great title as that's what it is) VERY GOOD: Tape Head(the good songs are really good) Ogre Tones Faith Hope Love(just too polished production wise) King's X GOOD: Please Come Home Mr. Bulbous Manic Moonlight XV Black Like Sunday A few of my fav individual King's X tunes are Marshmallow Field, Higher Than God, Life Going By, Pretend, Pleiades. Mr. Not
Quite a few fans say that Ogre Tones is King's X's comeback album... I decided to do my own personal line graph to see if I agreed. If Tape Head / Mr. Bulbous hadn't been made, it would have been for me. http://i.imgur.com/QUiPr.png

presto123
Just as I suspected I went to Amazon and Bulbous is one of the lowest rated records in the King's X catalog. Lots of average and meh reviews. It does contain a couple good songs but doesn't compare to their best records.
