Gedneil Alpeart
Besides teenage Rush fans, what do teenage non Rush fans think about songs like Tom Sawyer, Red Barn Cheddar (oops sorry, I meant Red Barchetta), Limelight.....etc. etc.? I would be appalled to hear anyone say that those songs suck.

JDL2112
Hello...I'm a Rush fan (Duh), and I have 4 kids (1 is mine), but let me hit you with what they think of MP... The youngest girl, 11 years old, loves it...but could live without everything on side 2...you know...Witch Hunt...Camera Eye...However, she thinks very highly of Limelight, loves to listen to YYZ, and could live without Tom Sawyer, but it's in movies she's seen, so she gets it...(NOTE: This is the one going to the show with me in July) The 16 year old girl can't stand Rush...so she sleeps in the shed... The 2 boys 14 and 15 like Tom Sawyer, and after years of me pounding it into thier heads, listen to Witch Hunt. One of them really likes Limelight and can't stand YYZ...the other loves YYZ and can't stand Limelight... This is where it ends for these kids...none of them are even remotly intersted in any other Rush... I will say this...the 14 year old boy stood right up one day during YYZ and pronounced that the "Drummer" is way better than any drummer in any bands he likes. He does less chores now... On a side note, they all like Far Cry...something works for them...except the 16 year old...she's still in the shed...
deadwing2112
My guess is they just recognize Limelight and Tom Sawyer on the radio.
I Get High On You
Ahem, as a teenager, I can fairly accurately say that there is a general apathy, even among those wise souls who regularly listen to "classic" rock of the 60s, 70s, and 80s. Only three people I know had actually heard of Rush...two are pretty big fans, and one likes Limelight and that's about it. However, I recently burned PeW and MP for a girl I know who's into classic rock and she dug it, so who knows...maybe there are more Rush fans out there then we know...? Perhaps Rush just isn't given enough exposure. Or maybe it's the hurdle of getting past Geddy's...er...unique...voice. At first, I almost cracked up, but now I love it. Most people I know still just crack up.
Henri
Well I am 15-years old now (Soon to be 16 ) and I once made my friend (same age as me) listen to MP. He Didn't like Red barchetta or Limelight, but he adored Vital Signs and Witch Hunt. After that I have made him listen to some random songs and he seems to be really into Vital Signs, Digital man, New World man, The Enemy Within, Second Nature and Where's my Thing. He acutally once said "Well, yeah, Rush is okay". And that's good a good thing, concidering his musical taste in general.
snowdog987
Two Boys....11 & 13 The youngest is very picky about which Rush he likes. Loves MP, especially YYZ. So far he could care less about Far Cry although of my 2 he is the one who asked to go with me to see them in Setember in Chicago. The 13 year old loves most Rush and in fact as he ages he is really getting into classic rock in general. As for Far Cry he thinks it is great although he does not want to go see them live but that is because he is worried about it being too loud. My wife likes all after Power Windows (especially CP) and does not like early Rush. She did go with me to see them on the VT tour and was duly impressed. So for me I live with a mixed bag at home. I like the shed idea.....

mfratt
Well I'm 18, and I can say that most of my peers fall into one of three groups: a) Rush? Who are they? They suck. c) They're alright Now most would probably recognize songs such as Limelight if they came on the radio (not even realizing they they're by Rush) and would think of them on roughly the same level as any other song that came along.
