This is just terrible, but I thought the second line from the chorus of 2112's "Temples of Syrinx" was:

We are the Priests of the Temples of Syrinx
offer gifts of life or Hell with it I won't wacko.gif

Hey! That's pretty good!!

One I just remembered, from the Pass

Waiting for the world to pause

of course it's Waiting for the world's applause but either one suggests a bit of arrogance on the part of the protagonist, or a huge desire for attention.

Hey don't laugh but that's exactly what I thought the lyrics said when I first heard the song. It has gone on to be one of my all time favourites. 2.gif 2.gif 2.gif

I remember another one, not funny but kind of profound considering the song

Distant Early Warning:

"A demon comes arising across the cities of the plain"

I thought it was "A new moon comes arising across the cities of the plain."

When I first heard Twilight Zone on 2112 on the part it says "NOW THE FOURTH DIMENSION IS CROSSED" when I first heard it misinterpreted it as "NOW THE F**KING MAN STUNTED HIS GROWTH!".

In Animate, I used to sing "Goddess in my garden" as:

God is in my garden.

doh.gif

I thought that it was "Goddess In My Garden" in Animate! Oops!

Ah, as for the Rolling Stones:

"No more will my green seagull turn a shade of blue" Paint It Black. I am not sure of the actual lyrics.

From Digital Man: "He'd like another's wings to fly on, to a traffic island Avalon."

I mean, okay, I knew those couldn't be the right lyrics, but that's what it sounded like!

Haha! I used to think that too!

I saw a topic on this somewhere else, a while ago. One was (get this):

"We are the beasts of the devil's auxiliary"

Funny thread. biggrin.gif I've too many to mention, but I've heard Geddy say catch the fish in Tom Sawyer live versions so he screws around with the words, I've also heard him sing warm buffalo chip in Vital Signs. smile.gif

And while we may all get it wrong from time to time if you're lucky enough to be picked as an artist to do a song on the Rush tribute album "Working Man" shouldn't you at least learn the lyrics. It's:

"Disciples of the Snow Dog sound the knell"

Not:

"Disciples of the Snow Dog sounding well."

A friend of mine used to sing TSOR "...of satan's men. oooooof satan's men"

Always cracked me up. smile.gif
