circumstantial tree Posted August 23, 2007 Share Posted August 23, 2007 North Carolina, for the most part is in severe drought to the point that the governor is seeking federal aid to the farmers whose crops are basically destroyed. Add to this the intense heat that has been baking the land here. Apparently, a ridge of high pressure is sitting over the south east keeping us from getting rain but funneling into the midwest where they have been flooded out. This weather is ridiculous! Then I realized that a rare and loud middle-of-the-night thunderstorm was hitting my area of Colo. So THAT kept me up. Then it passed.
