Of course, my favorite character is Brock Samson (close second-Baron Unterbheit). I also picked up the Season 1 DVD this weekend. Great stuff! Go Team Venture! Just from watching the first episode it reminded me a lot of the original Johnny Quest. One of my old faves. Almost the same character setup, just different names. Another one of those mummies got stuck in our landing gear. Mummy: Who dares to desecrate the sacred tomb of- oof! (Brock kicks the mummy in the groin and then proceeds to beat him as the mummy protests.) Mummy: Ow! Hey, hey! Wait a minute. (Brock breaks the mummys arm.) There's no reason to - aarghhh! (Brock delivers a karate chop to the throat.) Oof! Ow, oh, hey! Hank: Holy toledo, he ripped on him! Dean: Way to give him a little chin music Brock! Dr. Venture: Well that ought to take care of tha- Dean: Look, Brock still ain't done with him! (Brock unzips his pants and preceeds to urinate on the mummy.) Hank: That's showing him who's boss, Brock-O! Dr. Venture: Was that really necessary? Brock: You have to defile a mummy completely or they'll come back to life. You know that. Brock: You get the boys. I'll take care of these guys. Dr. Venture: Are you sure? There's an awful lot of them. Brock: (left eye twitching) They hit me with a truck. The Monarch: But see, that's what I'm talking about. Now Venture'll send Samson after the rest of us, and he'll go all sickhouse on our asses. I LIKE my ass, gentlemen. What about the scene from the space station with the rubber guy's heinously ugly girlfriend and Sampson "wrestling" (as I think Dean and Hank said) in Brock's quarters. I'm a bit of a night owl (an understatement) and I happened to be watching the network last night. I was surprised to see the preview appear about a quarter past Midnight - thank goodness for DVR. They played a rough cut sequence from the forthcoming episode 'The Doctor is Sin', with dialogue but without music and effects. It was pretty funny. The episode features the return of Doctor Henry Killinger and his "magic murder bag." The Venture Bros. is one of the best damn shows on TV. If you haven't seen it, it's a sort-of spoof of the old Jonny Quest cartoon, and I think it ranks right up there with South Park and The Simpsons. I gave up on 'The Simpsons' about three years ago, though I have to admit that I liked the movie. Ironically, the movie soured my taste for the show even further in that it left me wondering why the show can't be as funny anymore. I don't much care for 'South Park'. That's comedy right there. Too true! I just wonder what's going to become of the Monarch now that he's no longer arching Dr. Venture. I bet they'll have some kind of falling out (probably due to Venture's obliviousness) and it'll be on again! Also, I hope that 21 and 24 get a whole ep devoted to just them!
