CeeJ
QUOTE (Bastille Night @ May 29 2007, 10:08 AM) My son decided to try out the 'Ghoster Coaster' at Canada's Wonderland last weekend. As you can see in the picture below, he didn't like it very much. The two smiling kids are his cousins, and he's the one with the "let me offa this thing" look. Ah well, hopefully he's not scared off of roller coasters for good. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v335/bastillenight/2007-05-13GhosterCoaster.jpg He'll come around. My son hated them early on but now he likes some of them.

That one day at the amusement park shocked the hell out of me. The year earlier we couldn't talk her into going on much of anything. And then we show up at Six Flags last summer (she was just about to turn 7), and whatever she was tall enough to get on... she RAN on. Spinning Rides, Dark Rides, Coasters... you name it. I couldn't believe my eyes. So don't give up hope, BN!

Pags
http://www.seetheride.com/images/sfga_0.jpg Well... I'm not sure if I'll be going there this season, but Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey has done a major facelift to one of it's premiere coasters. Say goodbye to Medusa, and hello to Bizzaro. At least this time they didn't dismantle one of their killer coasters to install a kiddie ride.
MCM
Eleven pages and no mention of Kennywood.. not big coasters, not fast coasters.. but wooden ones.. I can't ride those wooden coasters enough.. the only rides I will get on anywhere.. I'm havent been on a real roller coaster since I rode the Viper in Darien Lake back in the 80's it terrified me, and it's a baby coaster by today's standards.. Ya_Big_Tree
My feeling on rollercoasters is complex. I have a horrible fear of falling and the first drop where it gains the momentum for the rest of the track scares the chicken and stars outta me! But after that, going upside down and corkscrews and lil drops are fine and I love them. I guess it's the feeling of my ass leaving my seat that I dont like. I remember going on Top Gun with some friends at Canada's Wonderland when it first came out prolly close to 8 years ago now. I was fine until the ground dropped off and left my feet dangling... then I was like.. OMG I want off now!!! But I sucked it up and did the ride. What a rush!!! I was screaming the whole time... I didn't feel my ass in my seat once. It was like flying almost.
-D-RocK-
Riding a roller coaster would be akin to being in an aerial dogfight in a high performance jet fighter.................in some ways.

Blows our Orlando theme parks away...yes it does...You can have Mickey, I'll take El Toro, Bizaro, Kingda Ka, and Nitro (which is the only coaster I was ever scared on, 'cuz of the tiny lap bar) any day. I love roller coasters!!! I haven't been to Six Flags New Jersey in about 8 years, but I agree it's a great coaster park. The Great American Scream Machine is still a great one, and - being an older one - usually doesn't have too long of a line. Batman is a great overhead-track coaster. That Batman and Robin coaster looked a little spooky to me - how it goes STRAIGHT UP a couple times. Yikes! I think Cedar Point in Ohio is still the Capial of Coasters. We took a vacation there once, and it's overwhelming how many killer coasters they had. They're still adding a new coaster almost every year, and are always looking to break records. (Fastest speed, highest, etc.) Went to our local place two weeks ago - Six Flags Great Escape in Lake George, NY. Not a LOT of coasters, but some fun ones. I went on their great woodie, The Comet, three or four times in a row. (My wife was watching our small children while I did this, and I could jump to the front of the line because I was a "single rider." First available single seat, I was on the coaster again.) Ya_Big_Tree
Top Gun I'm still proud of myself for going on that. This was one of my first rollercoasters as a kid. Canada's largest rollercoaster (this thing is insane)
neil#2
If you want good coasters go to Cedar Point. Maverick Really Fun one. Millennium Force Most Intense one I rode. Raptor I felt a little sick the last time I went on this.
