Those little envelope icons

So, the trivia question of the week.

First person to answer this right, gets an audio Rush boot from me of my choice. I will say cutoff time is Saturday 11:59pm EST if no one gets it by then:

Some envelopes have "dots": user posted image

Some do not: user posted image

What does the dot in the envelope signify? (GG and 1001 are obviously disqualified from this) smile.gif

QUOTE (physics23 @ Jan 11 2006, 05:29 PM)
If it's red and has a dot then it's a thread that was started more than 24 hours ago and that you replied to.

Hmmm....

Ok, I am going to spilt this one between Donna and Physics. Physics is technically correct with the answer "A message you've replied to".

If you have replied in a thread there will be a dot. If you have never replied in that thread there is no dot. As far as blue versus red, that is different all together. Blue is a topic with < 30 replies in it. It becomes a "hot topic" (orange/red envelope) when > 30 replies exist in it...

Donna and Physics (you bastard, now I have to pay to ship something to frickin' Israel laugh.gif ) PM me an addy and I will send a boot. If you have a specific preference of a boot, let me know:

mother f*cker! I thought I had it and was going to post the code!

Damn. I haven't read code in so long I must be slipping angry.gif

You wouldnt' be able to see the actual code, it is PHP driven (when you view source in your browser that is simply the output of the PHP, not that actual code).

The actual PHP line (variables changed a little for security reasons) is:

if ( ($ibforums->xxxxxxxx['id']) and ($messageitem['xxxxxx_id']) )

[

$show_a_dot = 1;

Good job, Donna. new_thumbsupsmileyanim.gif

I'm feeling a little guilty because I guessed more than anyone else. Maybe it should have been limited to one post per member. But I'm not gonna complain. trink39.gif

I like the sound of this one

I'll give you an address in RI, in case the postage to Israel is really excessive.

No back door, simply because the server is right here next to me smile.gif No need to access from outside the actual computer, therefore all those "doors" are closed tight... Unfortunately there have been times where I needed to access from work or something and couldn't though sad.gif Better this way tho
