Cygnalschick
I just finished watching the movie, which was a book originally written by Ray Bradbury that is a science fiction classic Anyhow, I liked the end when Montag finds the 'book-people', and each book-person 'becomes' a certain book and is able to recite it. It's set in a time where books are burned and forbidden because they more or less make people 'think'. So I had a thought.... What book would you be, or represent, if you were a book person??? Hmmmm..I would be "Stranger in a Strange Land" by Robert Heinlen, and perhaps engage in all kinds of rebellious activities, that didn't harm others
Grandpa Grizz
I would be the Book Of Neil. Preservation of his lyrics would be most important.
tangy
If possible I would be Walden by Thoreau. An interesting non-fiction book on preserving old books is "How the Irish saved civilization"
Riv
I'd be that Karma Sutra book.
Iridium318
One of the Ayn Rand books, because the ideals of enlightened self-interest and objective thought should be preserved and spread, and because they illustrate that collectivism and its resulting philosophies (socialism and communism) bring us all down to a lower level of performance and acheivment. Either that or one of the "Joy of Sex" books, because, like the Kuma Sutra mentioned above, there are lots of illustrations, and they would have to be demonstrated each time I was "read." GhostGirl
I think I'd be To Kill a Mockingbird - it was written way before my time, but it still suits me. A small southern town where everybody knows everybody, and the main character is a tomboy who loves adventure.

physics23
QUOTE (Rolinda Bonz @ Jan 1 2006, 08:16 PM)Ecclesiastes...all 10 pages of it. Whoa, I was considering that as my choice. It really is a phenomenal piece of work. Although I don't agree with the book's ultimate message, there's no doubt that as a work of art, it is of outstanding merit. It's very enjoyable to read. I loved reading Farenheit 451, but didn't enjoy the movie version so much....perhaps I should give it another chance....
