The Sphere is a large, sphere shaped venue in Las Vegas. It has both an external and internal video screen. It is used for concerts, among other things, and some musicians have taken up short residencies there where they'll play shows for a month or so. The large, wrap around screen can make for quite the immersive experience. The place also has it's controversies as a losing business venture, and also some of the seats can have blocked views. Tickets for shows here are also VERY expensive, even in today's high priced market. You can see more about it here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sphere_(venue) 2
Pressure/Hopenosis Posted September 3 Posted September 3 (edited) I couldn't handle the magic carpet ride a Disney with the screen that surrounds you so Im out. Lol! I wouldn't be able to watch the show. Edited September 3 by Pressure/Hopenosis 1
Bahamas Posted September 4 Posted September 4 I had to log in and say thank you 1-0-0-1-0-0-1 for posting this interview. I was watching without being logged in but it's a very relevant discussion and answers a lot of questions. Thank you also to Modern Drummer! 2

Maybe back half of next year or even 2028. I wouldn't mind if they waited a little bit and took a break. If they go right from the Europe dates into that, I worry about them burning themselves out or just over-exposing themselves and over-touring. They're obviously still in incredible shape and could still do it in a year. Not a bad idea to lay low for a bit after this tour is over and reassess. Not holding my breath for new music and initially when they announced the tour I was totally against the idea of releasing new music under the "Rush" name with no Neil. But I'm so all-in on Anika and have so much respect for her talent and creativity and she's clearly fitting so well with the boys both musically and personally, that she feels like a part of the band and not just a hired gun. So I'd be into it if they decided to. But that's a pretty big commitment. I think it's possible Rush could record a second volume of "Feedback." Feedback was a long-anticipated return to the studio for Rush, after the terrible losses Neil experienced within his family and his subsequent Ghost Rider period. Feedback allowed Rush to return to the studio without Neil having to write lyrics. At the time of its release there was word that it might be considered volume one, but Alex and Geddy later denounced that there would be another Feedback. But the current situation is similar to the original recording in that lyrics for new songs wouldn't have to be made. However, Geddy and Alex both have shown they have good writing skills. Feedback was just the result of them wanting to put something small together to tour behind for R30. 4

I think the brief instrumental they did of Paint It Black at the SARS benefit got them interested in playing more covers. An unusual phase, that they never returned to. Edited September 5 by Lurkst 2

thizzellewashington Posted September 8 Posted September 8 I haven't been an MD subscriber in 20 years. Do they still print/sell physical copies of the magazine or is it an online-only thing now? I really want to buy this one and frame the cover. 2

Looks like they only do digital copies of any new issues. Just an idea, but If you can get a decent sized digital copy of the cover you could always have it made into a print at a local Walgreen's or similar drug store (depending where you live), and then frame that instead. 2
JARG Posted September 8 Posted September 8 The part of the interview I enjoyed the most was the last 3rd or so where she spoke specifically about the approach she took to duplicating some of Neil's drum parts. 1

Damn right! I loved when she was talking specifically about cymbals sounds and her finding and really liking Neil's 70's and 80's cymbals and drum sound. Hell yeah girl! That's what we like too! 1

I confirmed with MD customer service that they don't print physical copies anymore. I get it but it sucks. 1
