Alex Confirms Toronto Shows Will Be Recorded

There was an interview around the time when the p/g deluxe set released where the interviewer brought up Red Lenses. Geddy then looked at Alex and said they had just been talking about that song.

 

No idea if they ever actually rehearsed it, but the way he reacted when it was mentioned still gives me hope we might see it performed at some point.

I've not heard about this. Was it found before the tour started? That would be nuts if the whole setlist was leaked bc of a default spotify setting haha.

I think too when he was interviewed by Rick Beato he played a part of The Necromancer (No One At The Bridge I think it was) and then feigned he didn't remember it.

I can't find the Reddit thread at the moment but I think it was found after the tour started, with many joking that it would have been amusing had it been noticed sooner that she had inadvertently leaked the whole set list!

There have been cases where it's known that a show is/will be recorded for official release, and Dime will ban the event. 

However..... no system is perfect. Maybe stuff will slip through. I guess we'll see.

Watching all those little technical errors throughout night one last time around was truly fascinating. I remember my friend and I walking out of it going, "well, it looks like night two will be the main feature."

Exactly what I thought after that show, especially when geddys bass quit early in the middle of (I think) Headlong Flight.

Not to mention Geddy's bass tone and playing on that track are top notch. 

You and me both  my friend!  DY is a great track and one of their heavier ones to boot!  The lyrics are fun and I imagine Neil had a blast writing them.  

 

BTW - back on topic track - gonna be at Toronto Night #1 today - hoping that Amiee Man can make it but either way - looking forward to it!

I'm not buying it, but that would be incredible if either one of those two songs were added.

The Super Deluxe Edition might be $500.00. (More than my ticket prices to two shows combined.)  And in this case, I will reluctantly have to fork it over.

If the quality of the video & audio work is a complete 180 reversal of the sync issue heavy video P/G 40th was…then it might be worth at least considering the purchase if it included the whole 4 nights.

Ooooohhhh, looks so awesome. I love that shade of blue.

 

Do you remember which song he played it on? This has to be the first photo in color I have seen of him with that bass in concert (assuming it's the original and not a custom remake).

 

Edit: Looked at my Chicago pics and this one doesn't appear to be on Ged's bass rack on the side of the stage. Possible he used it backstage before the show, but I'd guess he probably retrieved it once they arrived in Toronto. Very cool, hopes he continues to use it.

It will be very interesting to see how they end up piecing the Blu-ray together. I know traditionally it has been one full night with the "extra songs" included as a bonus, but the list of extra songs will be much bigger this time around. Also, with no Aimee Mann last night, it already makes for interesting speculation on which performances from which nights might essentially be edited into one "consecutive" performance, and thus contain material from all four nights.

I concure that I'd love all the show in their entirety worts and all. I'd also be fine with all the songs represented and pick the best performance from the songs they played multiple nights but make one long ultra setlist 4 hrs or so however they wish to splice that together.

I'd be more willing to pay big $$$$$$ for a huge box set of all four shows in their entirety on blu-ray/CD than I am for these deluxe album box sets that just have reprinted ticket stubs and other bullshit like that as the extras.

For me, I hope they also include like a bonus disc where they show them backstage or warming up, something behind the stage/scenes type. I kinda like that stuff--how they prepare for the show.

With the sheer gravity of this tour, I would not be at all surprised if there is some sort of companion documentary released as part of the eventual package.
